Come on down Pimp! He's still waiting for the depot to fill after the skip the other morning.

Saw a barn kitten ~20-25 (edit:probably more like 10-12) wks old today who had serious eye damage. One may have been missing and they were both definitely infected. Wanted to scoop the poor guy up and get him taken care of, but it would have had to be straight to the vet for quarantine.
Any ideas how much something like that would cost? I know he'll end up getting PTS "the farm way"...and I'm not a fan of that.
He was also the only kitten that came towards me instead of running away.

I have fostered several kittens with serious eye infections - one of the worst ones was Luna (picture attached). Both of her eyes were ulcerated and severely infected. She had been dumped outside and left to fend for herself. At first, the vet was concerned that she might have to lose both eyes. But eye drops and ointments and an oral antibiotic made a huge difference. In the end, one of my other cats donated blood, the vet spun it down and we used the serum in Luna's eyes. Amazingly, that is what finally did the trick. It took a while to get her healthy, but none of this was particularly pricey. And she is a picture of health now!
