Hello! Kirby's Prozinc was increased to 2.5 2x a day on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning he threw up several times, so I went back to 2 units Wednesday night and have slowly been increasing up to 2.5. Tonight at 730 pm I gave him his 2.5 units and he immediately threw up and has at least six more times. I tested him and he was at 147 at +5. I'm just really nervous because he won't stop vomiting and he's even started yowling before vomiting the last several times. I'm still so new at this and we've had such a hard time trying to regulate him that I'm worried this is something serious. Does anyone have any advice? Kirby and I both appreciate any information.

His blood glucose is still in a safe range, but if he's so uncomfortable and throwing up that much, I think I'd contact an emergency vet and get him in to be looked at

In the past when my kitty has had an upset tummy I have given 1/4 tablet of Pepcid Original Strength with 10mg Famotidine as the only ingredient. Upset tummies always seem to happen during the night or when the vet is closed and I have found that Pepcid settles things down until you can talk to your vet.

Yeah, I agree on the trip to the vet. All that vomitting could cause dehydration pretty quickly. Until you can get him in, I'd try giving him some water, a little at a time, with a syringe. Disconnect the needle from one of the insulin syringes and use that if you don't have another one. Good luck to you and Kirby! :bighug:

Please update when you can.

Thank you, Bernie. I had no idea of this temporary relief for Kirby. I will definitely be using this information!
