Well, yesterday he stayed in the pinks all day. Last night we got into the yellows but very flat. This Am is 351. Should I hold the 3u another day?

PS I had to shot so I gave him the 3u again. What are everyone's thoughts about increasing again next AM cycle. And another 1/2 unit? He is so stuck. I don't like to increase at night since it's his low time anyway.

Oops never mind, I see you did. Sorry...I overslept today. Yesterday was a rough day at my house (we finally had the endoscopy done) so I didn't get to sleep til late.

I think 3 u was fine for today.

As for tomorrow, you've given 3u a fair shot...I think I'd go ahead and bump it up. Hoping that one of these doses will break through and get him in lower numbers...

Oh, I am sorry you had a rough day and the endoscopy was delayed. It's always good to have them behind you (no pun intended) Hope everything is just routine.

Good morning Bobbie. Bubba and Colin have almost the same AMPS- the race is on, who gets the low number today, may both cats win! I think I'm going to increase too. I gave 6 this AM, mostly because I was still asleep and not thinking, so tonight...

Hey Sharon! Let's have two winners of lower numbers! I let him outside this morning after his shot. Yesterday, I wouldn't let him go out until I got a +2.5 to see what the dose was doing. He was miserable!! Crying that primal cry down in the basement...... want to see if he is happier how that will effect his numbers. Also, wondering if adjusting to one eye is stressing him to. Who knows?? It could be that the sunrise wasn't the right color this morning, although it was beautiful! BTW, I have been meaning to tell you that Colin's new photo reminds me of a mountain lion.

I just checked Murphy SS, he's in the race today too! I don't expect much movement from Colin today because he went yellow yesterday and when he does that, he bounces for a few days. Poor guy thinks pink is the proper color for a mountain lion...

I will be interested to see another cycle with 3 units. bubba has always been dancing to his own drummer but his latest numbers make absolutely no sense. Yesterday his amps was the lowest number all cycle. If it had been a wildly inverse curve, then sometimes that can mean too much insulin. But we have been that route; we have lowered the dose and gone back up.

He has been hard to regulate, but until very recently he has gone down with an increase. I don't understand. Worth a vet visit to look at the eye again?

The eye looks good, no redness, no swelling, sutures are still in. Thinking maybe I will have them remove them next week. They are dissolvable but I can have them take them out if thy are bothering him, which they aren't, but I can take that out of the equation of a possible irritant. Onward, what else can I do?

Yes, I guess it's back to the Sharon, Carol and Bobbie club of cats with high numbers. I love the quote about the butterfly fart - Usually past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior, but in the case of these kitties, I am becoming convinced that is not the case. I don't think that I can look at Murphy's spreadsheet for September (maybe even October) and see a particular preshot number and the dose given, and predict at all what a similar number and a similar dose would have today

Me either! Frustrating for sure!

Yes, there are so many variables. I know one thing with Colin is the glucose toxicity thing. He was on too low a dose for way too long. I didn't know and my vet didn't emphasize that I needed to increase the dose sooner. I hope that's all it is and we'll break through at some point, but at least for now he's feeling fine. Other than the neuropathy, you wouldn't know anything was wrong with him. At least I keep telling myself that when I get those 300's...

The butterfly fart thing was from another thread awhile back. It's so true!
