Blood Glucose testing sites.

Can anyone recommend other sites for checking the blood glucose? I cannot for the life of me get ear checks with Mr. D.S. Rickelbaum. I have tried several times. I have used the warmth pre test etc nothing. He is not happy. He was started on Vetsulin Thursday (11/5/15) in the pm. He is on 1 unit twice a day. I have been checking blood sugars for over 32 yrs. I am nervous giving insulin without knowing his sugar level. All , and any advice would be helpful. Right now I am watching his intake and trying to watch urine(hard due to multicat house hold). Not currently checking Ketones I need to go to different city /pharmacy. To try to find.
 
Some find testing the paw pads to be easier. There are videos on you tube showing the technique.
 
Thank you so much . I will check you tube as he never liked his ears touched and this isn't helping. He is now starting to run when he hears the zipper on the accu check machine.
 
Try this, find a spot that will be your 'testing spot' and start going there multiple times day and night and just petting your kitty rubbing his ears, or paw pads, giving him a treat and letting him go. Do that without testing, until he settles down. If the sound of the zipper upsets him, add that noise just before the treat so he'll associate the noise with something good. The paw pads were much easier for me, after I poked a hole right thru Goof's ear and almost
vomited on my cat, I knew there had to be a better way. He just lays on the counter and doesn't
fuss about it at all.
