For the past three nights Squallie's BG has gone up after his PM shot. I don't understand why this is happening. Can anyone clue me in as to what might be going on here? Nothing else is different, same foods, same schedule, etc. Thanks!

Because he's a cat??.....LOL

But seriously, I think he's just bouncing off the green he got today. He dropped really fast in those first few hours and between dropping fast and dropping lower than his body is used to being, that's two out of the three main reasons for bouncing.

They don't always bounce the same way each time...all we can do is try to keep them in good numbers as much time as possible and hope the bouncing settles down sooner rather than later

Is there anything I should be doing to try to lessen this bounce, reduce dosage or something? It's been going on for three days and I'm afraid it's not going to stop if he keeps going into the 70s-80s (which is where I'd love to see him stay!) during the day.

I really don't know much about Vetsulin, but I do know that's one of it's downfalls...hitting too hard, too fast.

What you can try is to catch him before he starts those quick deep drops and feed earlier in the cycle to try to slow them down

Hi Lucy, guess what, Bubba has been doing the same exact thing for the last 3 cycle. And going up a lot + +3-4. I assumed it as a bounce because his pre-shot numbers have been in the blues. And because what Chris said, " Because he's a cat??.....LOL

His BG was a whopping 425 this morning! I know, though, if I give him more than 0.5 U he'll drop low, fast, and keep bouncing. It's getting very frustrating for me, and I can't even begin to imagine how crummy it must make poor SquallieBear feel.

I hear you. We have had some really big spans in numbers too. Early this morning, at 2AM he was 111. ( gave him .75 oz of FF knowing he had 4 more hours and he has been known to drop through +10) Then at 6 AM, 351....... Gotta keep those dancing shoes on and the patience pants.......
