Murphy's first good day since Aug 6th - started out in red, in blues almost all day - his pmps was 315 - I am afraid to dose at full 3 units since I am always shooting from a red or a black (actually I'll be shocked if he does not bounce from today) Also, I am completely exhausted and cannot check past +3 tonight (if that) I was thinking skinny 3 or 2.5 Yes, I am a coward and have gotten too comfortable up in the high sugars but I really need to get sleep tonight and don't want to worry Any thoughts?

Way to go Murphy! I know that feeling Carol, it's a double edge sword, they go lower which means more careful watching. Sounds like you need a good night sleep. Sleep tight!

Congrats to you on your yellows too. And thanks for the advice on injections. I used the method you mentioned.

It's easier, right? It's easy to feel for the shoulders, and it seems there's lots of lax skin right there - I still take too long - my friend said it can be done in 2 seconds or less, but I can't do that

I take my time too. Another thing, he isn't moving off any more. Don't know if I was hurting him before from injecting improperly.

went down below 100 (using alphatrak) at midnight after refusing to eat the 2nd half of his pm meal - wouldn't eat anything but high carb (non diabetic) kibble now the bounce I was expecting - amps 589 a new record

589-ugh!, but at least you expected it so it's not a shock. Colin stayed in 300's last night and while he ate this AM, he doesn't seem right. He feels warm, maybe a fever, or he's just warm-he is a cat after all. Haven't seen him use the litter box either way. He usually wakes me up in AM peeing, so I don't know. I'll keep watching him.

Big bounce. I would guess part of the low was because he didn't eat much.

Carol, have you posted on Health lately and asked for help on his food issues? Explain that you have tried wet low carb and it isn't that he won't eat it, it's that it makes him ill. Explain what low carb dry you have tried. Maybe someone else has a kitty with this same kind of food issue who could help you?

I think if you could figure out his diet, you would have a much easier time with his diabetes.

Oh that bouncing! I second Sue's suggestion to post on health...lots more eyes there and they might be able to help.

Sharon, I'm sorry Colin isn't feeling well! How's he been acting so far this morning?

Thanks for asking Rachel. He's eating good, just laying around though. I'm wondering if he's got another UTI. He's prone to them. Will get him checked tomorrow, unless he really perks up.

Yes, I agree that it's a great idea to get him checked out for UTI if he's not perking up by morning. Keep us posted, Sharon.:bighug:

Try not to let the bouncing drive you crazy:confused: - so many of us know how that feels, Carol! As Sue often says: Kitties keep bouncing ... until they stop. Hang in there!:bighug:

thanks for moral support everyone- just when I thought there was progress I"m somewhat concerned his dose is a little too high - I may ask for dosing advice tonight so watch for my post after his pmps if needed

We'll keep an eye out tonight, Carol! :)

Sharon, I agree, checking for a UTI might be good if he isn't feeling better tomorrow. Can't hurt...if nothing else, you'll feel better having a vet take a look at him!
