Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

Full disclosure: I am teetering on the edge of a meltdown right now. It's just been one of those days and with the lack of sleep, it's catching up to me.

Cinco did not do anything dramatic with his numbers today, but he also didn't hit the pink floor, so I'm grateful for that. We took the e-collar off yesterday because they bandaged the area he was licking raw, but they took the bandage off today, so I'll have to monitor it closely to see if he's messing with it again.

Minka had a very unhappy appy day. I ended up syringing some z/d so I could give her meds. After fluids she ate a little baby food. Her new thing is to lick it directly out of the jar (her daddybean's fault - he's too lazy to spoon feed her). I left the jar next to her as I went about my business, and lo and behold, after a couple of hours she had gotten all that her tongue could reach out of it! :woot: Just about a teaspoon or so left. She ate about 1/4 of her dinner, too. I just gave her some SEB to see if I can get her eating some more, since she's maxed out on all her tummy meds.

Sasha did her SLGS method of eating today, but she eventually hit CPC. I expect the same with her dinner. She had a small snack this afternoon, too. Of note: it's a lovely, cool, fall-like day. Coincidence? I'm :nailbiting: about her dental procedure and biopsy Thursday (she goes in tomorrow for preliminaries and a sleepover).

Harvey was a little subdued again, but he ate well, just a little more slowly. He's making me nervous.

Cinco got his usual 1/2 of a 3 oz can of food after his radiation, but he was so hungry when he got home that he went walkabout and found some leftover food in Harvey's dish. It was history in seconds. Fortunately, that was only minutes before t/f/s, and it was low carb. Needless to say, he ate all his dinner, and had seconds.

I look around my house, at all that needs to be done, and I just feel so helpless. I can't seem to get anything accomplished, with following Minka around all day with food and running back and forth to UCD. It's very disheartening. Then today I got the statement on the credit card we use the most and discovered a past due balance - apparently I never got the e-mail saying the statement was ready and I've been too busy to notice.:arghh: I am very picky about our credit rating and pay all the cards off in full every time. This tipped me over the edge. I couldn't get their customer service people to credit back that interest and late charge, either. She said they sent the notification. It's not in my spam folder, or my trash folder (neither of which I've emptied in months), and it's not in my new or old mail folders. :banghead::banghead::banghead: This happened two months ago with another card from the same bank. That time they did credit me the charges. I guess I'll be making yet another spreadsheet - this one will show all our credit cards and other bills and the date on which the statements should be received. *SIGH*

Sorry to vent like that. I'm going to go open a bottle. Or two.

On a less self-pitying note, I am so sad to learn that Jennifer had to help her dear Doodle cross the bridge today. I was praying for a miracle, but I guess he was ready to go. She and her DH are in our thoughts and prayers. :(

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Marilyn & Polly, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

Oh Tricia....Sure wish we all lived closer!! I know we'd all gladly come take a few shifts and let you get some rest!! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Glad to see Cinco didn't pull any funny business today, but I know just seeing those higher numbers makes you cringe a little. Try not to worry....he'll get back on track when all this is over and done with! It sounds like he's doing really well so far so we're all expecting him to come through this like the trooper he is!

I'm sure you've tried everything, but just have to ask...have you ever put a spoonful of baby food on top of regular food or mixed some in and topped it off with another spoon? If she ate most of the jar "on her own" today, it might be worth a try...even if you've tried it before. I know chasing Minka around is a full time job all by itself, but if she's proven she'll eat on her own if she's left to do it, maybe now's a good time to try to get her to accept a new way of doing things.

Haven't forgotten that Sasha's day is coming up either...Sure hope Thursday goes well and if 2 of them are at UCD, maybe you should take the rest of the day OFF from kitty wrangling!! If it wouldn't stress you out too much, maybe leave Cinco overnight with Sasha and just relax!!!

I have 2 words for the housework...SCREW IT!! Dustbunnies never hurt anybody and as long as there's a path down the middle of the room, leave it! You'll have time to deal with it when all this is over and done with

Sorry about the credit card bill too....since it was from the same bank, that's why they wouldn't credit your charges back....been there, done that....they'll do it once in awhile, but it seemed like once a year was about all I could get out of them (as long as my other bills were paid on time) And don't worry....it won't hurt your credit score either to just have a late payment (take that from the voice of experience too)

Sending lots of vines and hugs for the whole family...feline and beans included

Thanks, Chris and Elise. I'm just plugging along.

Cinco apparently wasn't interested in the high dive like China was tonight. Slow, safe drop. Makes me wonder what's on his schedule for tomorrow!

Minka, apparently feeling much better, ate all her dinner over an hour or so, and has had to snacks since! :):):) sasha, too, is eating tonight. Keyboard just tk a dump. sorry for te typos.

:bighug::bighug::bighug: I'm definitely with Chris on the housework, mine doesn't get done when everything's going well let alone in the busy times! I do think that a good melt down is good for the soul here and there though. Having a big blubber and getting a pile of toxins out can be very refreshing and get you back in shape to deal. I'm sure it's much better for you than trying to hold it all together when you're teetering on the edge. So I vote for taking the big girl panties off for an hour and crying like a baby :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm sorry everything hit at once yesterday. Vent here all you need to. I also wish I was closer so I could help. Sending lots of prayers and hugs to you. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

As far as the credit card goes, do you have a calendar program in your e-mail? I set notices to remind me when my bills are due so I don't forget to pay one if I don't get a notice.

:bighug::bighug::bighug:...I know how you feel - I've been teetering on the border of a meltdown for ages now. It's hard to look at all that needs to be done and say "Screw it"...but when Minka has a happy appy and everyone else is doing great, remember that they are so worth it! And, as the others have said, sometimes you just have to let that meltdown fly.

I hope the happy appies have continued, and that Cinco doesn't need to have the collar reinstated...

Melt away. Or something like that. This choir knows the song you're singing, even if few of us have to sing so many choruses. Yes, Tricia, I suspect we all wonder how you do it all. Amazing woman. Melt down deserved and a good cleansing for shaking the feeling of being overwhelmed!

All I got is tons of vines. And a corkscrew if you need it.

Well, I went ahead and had a meltdown last night and reserve the right to do it again today :). With all the balls you are trying to juggle, it is understandable. We all have been in your shoes and completely support your need to rant. We all wish that we could do something more concrete to help but all we can do is send vines and hugs.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hope everybody is CPC today and Cinco does not throw any curve balls today.
