Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

Just a quick post to ask for input on doing a dosecrease back to .75, starting tonight. We would then take him back down to .5 from Sunday through next Friday morning. Thoughts?

I'll post more later, just wanted to get this up, 'cause we shoot in about 10 minutes.

FWIW I don't think I would. I think I'd just ride things out this week and reconsider that option for next weekend

Okay, that wasn't really fair. Not enough time to get a sampling of opinions. Thanks, Serryn, for jumping in. We went ahead and shot the .5, and will revisit the question regarding tomorrow morning's shot. I'll still welcome input, please.

Needless to say, I'm not at all happy with that PMPS. DH pointed out that he's just gotten out of the carrier after a long, stressful day and two of the hated car trips.. It'll be interesting to see what he does this weekend when he get to eat on a normal schedule and stay home! :cat:

When I picked Cinco up, the tech told me that they got the official answer from the pathologist this afternoon: NO cancer cells in his nose! :):):)

Minka's appy was okay today. She ate most of her breakfast and had a little baby food with fluids. DH gave her a small snack this afternoon while I was gone. She greeted her dinner with enthusiasm, but only ate a few very small bites. I'll keep encouraging her. I really want to try to cut back on the meds. Her acupuncture vet called this morning and stressed getting her off all the nausea stuff. Sorry, but if she needs it, she's gonna get it. She's gotta eat.

Sasha's summer appy remains in force. Will this heat never go away? :arghh:

Harvey is status quo.

I was so sorry to get home and read that Pennie had to help Chloe cross today. Cancer is such a mean, vicious disease. My heart just breaks for her and her DH. :bighug:

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Marilyn & Polly, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

Work it Cinco - bean's trigger finger is VERY itchy! Fantastic news on the no nose cancer. :joyful:
:joyful::joyful::joyful:

Hmmmmm.....they monitor him when he's at radiation, right? I'm wondering if there's a need to drop him back down after the weekend as long as they keep tabs on him. If they'll make sure he doesn't drop too low, it may be worth considering the increase and not reducing, as I think the ups and downs in dose may cause more issues than help. What do you think about something like that? And, of course, let's see what others have to say, too!

Yay for no cancer cells in the nose! And yes...cancer is just about as evil as it gets.

I have to agree with you...if Minka needs the meds, she needs them. We have to weigh the benefits with the side effects. Trix has been on the max dose of Pepcid BID and cerenia every 36 hours for about 18 months now, and she is doing incredibly well. I think that's because I've been consistent with the meds, because any time I tried to wean her off, she backslide. This is what works for her. For a "healthy" cat, medicating like this is obviously not ideal, but we're dealing with kitties who have special circumstances...and I am definitely one who goes to meds as a last resort. ECID and you live with Minka - you know if something works and you have to go with that.

I hope you guys are looking forward to a relaxing evening!!

Yay for a clear nose report. No dosing advice from me. Sorry. I just don't know how to advise. I am sending prayers and vines for a decision that works.

Thanks for visiting, Chris, Wendy, Amy and Elise.

@Amy&TrixieCat, yes they do check his BG. Your thoughts are very well founded. I would be interested in getting some more input on that.

At this point, I really am leaning toward going up to .75 in the morning. What we do on Sunday night is still up for debate. Any thoughts on Amy's idea?

Minka not only CPC'd her dinner, but she's had two more helping of about the same size and polished both off! :):):)

When the sun started to go down, the Delta Breeze kicked up and it cooled down significantly. Sasha's appy improved porportionately.

I am enjoying an adult beverage and watching HGTV with the DH and Minka. Sooo relaxing.

I agree..go up to .75 in the morning and let's see how he does at home with his own little bean ....if nothing unusual or worrying shows up by Monday morning, I'd probably keep him on the .75 unless he makes it very clear that 'whatever' is going on, he needs less juice to keep him safe

Come on down to the lagoon Cinco...you don't have to go swimming if you don't want to! You can watch me teaching freestyle and backstroke to some of the newer students and after that, maybe we'll go out for a beer ~~ China

Yay for no cancer in Cinco's nose. :) Good luck if you increase his dose in the morning. Sending appy vines for Minka and Sasha. I know it's not ideal to give meds all of the time, but sometimes we just have to. As Amy said, it's different with a healthy cat. You have to do what you need to for Minka. Sending prayers. :bighug:

Amy makes a very good case, especially after tonight's performance!

Very happy to hear the good news on Cinco's nose :joyful::joyful::joyful:

and cheers - I'm having one too ;)

Soooooo pleased you got confirmation of the report today! Fabulous news.
Cinco ...you are an amazing little fellow!
Psst...so is your Mama!

Hot darn on the nose report! Woooooooot!

No advice from me on dosing. Although, Amy's post sure does make a lot of sense. Whatever you do, vines! And then some.

Glad the girls are helping by eating. Hope the breeze keeps coming.
