Hi Tricia. I actually am supposed to have a late lunch with friends as one is leaving for Europe Saturday. They agreed to go at 1:30 to accommodate Max. Of course my sister got mad because she called yesterday to say she wants me to go to the eye doc with my mom and I said I couldn't. It's always all or nothing around here. Hope you are having a nice uneventful morning!

Change of plans. My mom isn't feeling well and latest blood tests worse. My sister is taking her to the eye doc and then I will meet them at the cardiologist. She might need to go to the hospital to check her blood gases which would be out patient. Keep a good thought for us.

If she needs to be admitted and I don't get home for PMPS, would it be best to do two 18 hour shots? If I'm not too far off I will just shoot late but I'm trying to get a game plan. Thanks.

If needed I can either skip or do 18 hours. I'll test before I leave the house and then when I get home if late. He's running blue so far today so I guess I could shoot whenever I get back and adjust from there. I'm hoping my DM doesn't end up in the hospital. She kept her eye appointment because she doesn't know she's going to the cardiologist. Thanks Carla.

If you're so late tonight that it would throw off your schedule too badly to shoot late, I think doing an 18/18 makes sense

Sure hope everything is OK with your mom Elise!!

Deep breaths and chocolate (that's how I handle stress, anyway).
Hopefully Max will continue with a nice flat blue for a day or two, so you don't have to worry about him while all that other stuff is going on.
Good luck with your DM and the doctors!

Sorry to hear the news of the needed cataract surgery, but at least cataracts aren't life-threatening and most people do really great after surgery. (My DM has had both eyes done too)

I'm betting the cardiologist will have to sign off on it first though, so hoping that you get good news there!

at least cataract surgery is an elective surgery, so you/she doesn't have to make a decision right away. I hope the visit to the cardiologist went better.

I'd either skip or do the 18hr option, depending on which is easiest for you. :bighug:

So sorry about your mom Elise..if she does get the cataract surgery, is it done with laser? Im pretty sure its really a routine procedure, but when its family, nothing is routine..we always worry. I hope the cardiologist gives her a good report and it isnt anything serious. Meanwhile..I see Mr. Unpredictable is surfing along in blue, which is better in your situation right now. Dont want him too low, or too high. Vines galore for your mom..and you!:bighug:

Thanks. I've been home all day waiting to go to the cardiologist but tge were at the eye doc for hours. I still don't know if they will see him. Meanwhile my mom has been complaining about her eyes since she saw the eye doc six months ago. Her eyes have been perfect and until recently she hasn't even needed glasses for reading. I sure do! The heart thing is scary. I'm worried her valve is getting a lot worse. Her seats are bad and BNP(fluid around heart) is rising a lot. I'm worried she will end up in the hospital.

Well they went to cardio w/out calling me. She can't have cataract surgery because she is too frail and weak. Sounds like he didn't do anything or change anything and wants to see her in two weeks. It's not good news except for tge fact he didn't hospitalize her.

Is she already on lots of heart meds? They can do wonders with those, depending on what the problems are. My dad's heart improved a lot with meds.

Yes, Julie. She has been on lots of meds. Her aortic valve is narrowing. She had clips put in her other one that was leaking about 5 years ago which was successful. It's started leaking again but not so bad. :(
