Hi Everyone,
Yesterday was a spectacular day for the beans and a day of apparent anxiety for Rusty. We left very early in the morning to get to the Great Camp Santanoni in time to meet the horse-drawn wagon and get our boats loaded on it. So Rusty had to spend all day by himself. He "saved" almost all of his fuds and must have been worried about us, since his PMPS was 285. Then he came down to 95 at bedtime. He was so happy to see us. I am a bit anxious about next week, when we will be at our annual Canoe Outing (our vacation) at Paul Smiths College from Mon.-Sat. Every day we will leave early. I'll get back for Rusty's PMPS and then head back to the Outing again for the evening meeting/trip reports. Then Edward and I will go home to be with Rusty at night (we have a dorm room at the college, but we don't sleep there because of Rusty's schedule). We have done this Outing every year that Rusty has been with us, so I hope he will remember that we do come home!
Today was a blue rest day for Rusty. He ate pretty well. He spent some time outdoors (chased Lelia, the new cat who lives across the street), napped, and this morning we had a long schmooze while I was watching the Tour de France.

Yesterday's paddle on Newcomb Lake couldn't have been better. We met the two horses, Jim and Truman, who did a great job carrying 9 canoes and 14 people 5 miles to Camp Santanoni. Some of us walked the 5 miles. Then we paddled (quite windy, remarkable scenery), ate our lunch at a lean-to on a lovely point with a view of Mt. Santanoni. Then the horse team took us back to our cars. A beautiful day with perfect weather.

We sat in this wagon and most of the canoes were strapped onto the sides or carried in a small wagon attached to the rear of this one.

Wishing all a good evening.

Nice blues for Rusty today. Sorry he was so anxious about you being gone yesterday. I think he'll remember and realize you'll be back home during the Canoe Outing next week. He's a smart kitty.

Hey, Rusty. The beans always come back. Yup. Just snooze through the day and they'll be home before you know it!

What a wonderful day. Love the picture.

Sounds like a great time was had by all! The trip sounds wonderful!

Don't worry Rusty....your beans love you so much...they'll always come home! Maybe you should tell them to call you during the day to say hello!

Sounds like you had a beautiful time, Ella :) It's so wonderful to be out in nature.

Hi Rusty - like China said, your Mama love you so much, she never ever leave you. She come back, don't be scared. I come and give you hugs :cat:

Wuv,
Lulu

Jim and Truman, great names and they both look very sturdy and handsome! Poor Rusty missed you both. I bet if you tell him about the upcoming camp and explain things, he will remember. I wish we lived close by and we could come spend the days with Rusty while you went to canoe camp!

Hi Ella :coffee::coffee::coffee:

What a wonderful day for you yesterday. How cool!

Sorry Rusty was a bit anxious. Hopefully he will remember, come next week, that yesterday you indeed came home. When these type of things came up with Mannie I'd spend lots of time talking to him, somehow that always seemed to help. Sure was nice to see him come down to the greens at night. :D A nice steady blue yesterday.

Have a great day today! Sorry I keep missing your posts.... :rolleyes:
