Hello all. I *think* I posted an introduction some blurry days ago...well, I am getting some BG readings now. Imperfect though they may be..Many adjustments have been made already! Who knew? I would be grateful for a conversation w anyone using the Walmart ReliOn Prime. I have had much difficulty w it. Thanks so much

I can see your spreadsheet, even on my phone. Good job!
What questions do you have about the Prime?

I wanted to comment on your spreadsheet numbers. First, great job testing! Second, interesting. With N, we often see a short cycle, with a early nadir and then rapid rise to a higher number in the +8-9 range. He is doing much better than that with N. The yellows mid way through the cycle are nice numbers and he surfs along in that range for several hours. And his pmps was 100 points less than his amps. All encouraging.

Last night's cycle looked more like a typical N cycle with a short fast rise. It looks like you gave mini meals during the day. Were you able to continue that overnight? If not, maybe that would flatten and lengthen the pm cycle. (An automatic feeder works well for this)

Thanks alot for your input Sue, I was waiting for it.:) First of all, I am fairly sleep deprived at the moment..and needed distillation of the numbers. I made notes in most of the cells regarding rewards & food if you click on them. As you will notice, I am trying to dilute MM/ reward w water too. He does not mind this. I have also done ketone testing, mid stream and never more than trace.
Two things: 1) I am a night owl, per my business schedule mostly, so I am dosing at Noon & midnight. I would like to adjust this. o_O
2) I am giving way less N than RX'ed.(.3) Can I go up to 1.5 today at Noon? To see if it holds him better? I can watch him for approx 3 hrs after and resume at +7 or +8.

My conclusions: I think he will do better when I get the flakes as REWARD, rather than Tbls of food, in combination w an upped dose. ??

It seems when I ready device, barely putting in strip, it doesn't register or turn on. (Not making contact yet) Often I get the stick, hold the cat firmly and insert the readied strip...entire screen info appears, when it goes I get arrow pointing to the east/ right!! I assume this to mean REMOVE STRIP. It happe

Contd.) It happened so frequently that I bought entire new bottle of strips. Still happening randomly, at the most inopportune moments. I am taking care to minimize handling and clean, dry fingers. But I always have a spare at the ready to grab.
Your thoughts?
P.s Sue&Oliver set up Tucker's SS I take no credit.

Am I responding properly in forums, Convos, threads etc..? I have never been active w a site before and have no knowledge, much less etiquette. I am teachable, however.

You can get an auto feeder..??..for wet food??! My others would steal from him. He wouldn't remain isolated in a room either. He hangs from the door by his claws. They all enjoy doing this, until they get my attention. Ahem.

You can adjust your schedule. Since you don't have much data, I think I'd be a little cautious. Moving 15-30 minutes either way should be okay IF you are sure he is rising and over 200. You can do that every cycle until you get it where you want. Of, if we are talking 8 hours different, you could skip a cycle and start the next one when you want.

You can try to increase the dose. Usually with N, we just see a harsher faster drop, not lower numbers overall. But his reaction has been a little different, so it won't hurt - as long as you can monitor. If you can only be there till+3' maybe leave some food out?

Whatever works for the reward - some cats like food, some special treats, some just like to be brushed.

You are doing fine with the forum. As I said, dosing can only be discussed on the forum, not in private. If you have a completely different question or a question that needs to be answered immediately, you can start a new thread.

I just posted AMPS 349. I intend to give 1.5 As it happens I will be free to test all afternoon & evening. I am thrilled, in a weird way.
And I can't leave food out The Others would eat it immediately. Since we are a *former* grazing household. Taking it quite well, undisciplined though.
So when I hit Reply on your response here that is considered private? I thought I was posting publicly..??

No. Anytime you post on the forum it is public. Private conversations are private, off the forum. That's why dose advice can't be given in a private conversation. Make sense?

Insulin is measured in units. With N, a U-100 insulin, there are 100 units per milliliter (mL).
I suspect you meant to write 3 units were prescribed, which is rather a high dose starting out, especially if you are changing the food to low carb, over the counter canned or raw food per Cat Info

Yes I know the "why" of it, just not the "how". It becomes private when I reply directly to you then? As soon as you reminded me of this yesterday I immediately posted on Health, " First spreadsheet results.." I guess I don't grasp the terminology..

Vet did not suggest the diet change, I came here to find this out.

I'm not sure what is going on there. This is going to sounds silly but it took me a couple of tries too. Are you sure it isn't a blood drop that is appearing?

@Shiloh & Rhonda Nope. It tells me to "remove STRIP" basically by blinking arrow to the right, nothing else on screen but arrow & strip icon. I have since found I can reinsert strip ( LOL w the squirming fed up cat)..Oh, and it doesn't just happen when I "time out"...I don't even insert it partially anymore!! I went thru almost 50 strips overnight & yesterday!

I would take it back or call the manufacturer as malfunctioning and get the Confirm instead.

No one has ever seen this? The strip & the Rt arrow w/o blood drop? It's not even addressed that I could find in manual. The good news is, I am getting consistent results now. In my spare time  I will call the 800#. Thanks all!
