Jenn...you test enough to do the Tight Regulation protocol if you want to (not sure which protocol you're using) and there's also no real need to do a "curve"....if you just get tests in at different times throughout the cycle, that'll tell us more than 1 cycle of a "curve" will.

If you think of the spreadsheet like a puzzle, if you have pieces of the puzzle sprinkled throughout, you can see a clearer picture. Look for places on your spreadsheet with lots of white and try to get some of those places "filled in"

In TR, we don't hold the dose as long since it can lead to glucose toxicity ....I think I'd consider taking him back up to 1U, but you might try feeding him something higher carb, especially at night when he tends to do those fast drops.

Some cats actually do better with at least some carbs in their diet! It might be worth a try with Sampson!!

Truthfully, I'm not really following a specific protocol, just going by advice haha. He is on raw food and I do want to keep his care as simple and straight forward as possible to allow him the best chance of adoption. Most weeks I'm not able to monitor him all day, last week I just happened to have to work late so he had to come with. So most times I am not able to get a test in between AMPS and PMPS. I am having a hard time understanding what exactly the data is telling me.

Would you double-check the units at pmps from yesterday? I'm thinking there's a typo and it should be 0.75u. Is that right?

I agree with Chris that if you want to do a curve tomorrow, super, but you don't need to. You have plenty of tests to help tell the story. Right now it's pretty obvious that Sampson is getting to lows in the upper 100's at this 0.75u dose. Then he's bouncing from them. If your goal is trying for remission, you want to aim for green numbers, and you don't want to hold a dose too long that's not getting him there. When Glucose Toxicity develops then it takes even more insulin to bring down the blood sugar.

It helps all of us if you choose a dosing method and put it into your signature line. If a person assumes that you're following Tight Reg because you have a lot of tests, and gives you advice based upon that, then that person would be likely to get a pm from the moderators reprimanding us for making that assumption. So . . .

There is a sticky at the top of the Lantus/Lev group about following Tight Reg if you work full-time. Lots of good ideas in there that you can use.

Most days I can't even get a +1 during the day. I leave at 6am and get home at 6-6:30pm so his shots are at the 6s. I also don't have a car and live an hour away so coming home on lunch is not possible. This will all change when I get a car in the next couple months but we will probably be regulated by then! Thats why I'm not completely sire what protocol to follow. I do want remission but not if it is risky when he is home alone all day

I did notice that he goes low at night, stays high during the day. Just wasn't sure how fast the bounce would clear, one of the stickys said it could be 3 days or more. So is it possible he is going low at night then bouncing the next cycle then by the next PM cycle he has cleared it and goes low again then bounces again? If I feed some low carb food at night should I add it to his raw? How can I tell how much? Or maybe I could get a +1.5 and if dropping quickly feed 1 teaspoon and keep testing every 30 minutes until the drop slows? How long do i do this for?

I am really bad at recognizing patterns. I think this is why I have such a hard time with the data. It makes sense a little but I have trouble understanding the trends and seeing the big picture. Im not very good at those 1,000 piece puzzles lol!
