Nasir's are fine but it seems like he isn't getting duration. His AMPS/PMPS are higher than they used to be. Instead of being around 110-140 they are 200-270. I dint understand why.

He's acting off. No early morning wake up calls. He did come out from under the bed for me though. Hevstevhis baby food and came in to me while I was getting the insulin in the syringe and was purring but when I went to put the insulin away he went back under the bed.

I hope the board crashing didn't leave any newbies in any scary situations. Prayers and vines to all in need.

Max, what makes you think you are allowed to have those YELLOW AMPS?

Max does seem to be having more YELLOW numbers since his initial reduction from 2.95 mm. But that is what you are giving right now 2.0 unit (2.95mm), Right? But he does seem to come down quite nicely as well. I am not really sure what to make of it.

Hi Tina. Thanks for taking a look. Yes, he's been on the 2.95 and I don't know what to make of this either. I'm afraid he will drop low if I add a little more but maybe he needs a tiny increase for a cycle or two even though he has good Nadirs?

I don't know about his dose. It does make me thing he may need a little more juice. I hope he feels better today.

Trix would change things up on me, too....sometimes I think it's just the unpredictable nature of FD, and hopefully that's all it s with Max. Maybe he's having a p-titis flare? Oh, how I hate p-titis.....I hope whatever is bothering him goes away ASAP.

Not this morning, but the last 2 times he had yellow in his cycles, both followed him hitting the 40's. I'm wondering if he might have done that last night after you went to bed. He was back in green quickly today. I think I'd just hold the dose for the moment if he were mine.

Thank you Julie. I was getting really confused with his numbers. Sometimes I feel like I understand him and other times I feel so confused.

Amy, if he weren't eating so well I would think pancreatitis as well. Then again I wonder if he eats in spite of feeling yucky from pancreatitis because the diabetes hunger trumps the nausea. I might give him some ondansetron tonight or even this afternoon to see what happens. I hate it so much especially because it caused Max to become diabetic.

Looks like he's bouncing so you are probably right. I just gave him some ondansetron to cover all bases.

With the onset of this bounce, I am inclined to say maybe he is going lower, with too much insulin and then bouncing. Maybe consider a slight reduction to see where that takes you. I just don't know, in Sammy's case it helped, but I am sure ECID, but it might be worth a try, as you know you can always go back up if it doesn't work. But if he is dropping low and bouncing constantly that isn't working either.

I've thought about that as well. Thanks for the input Tina. Not sure what to do at this point but he is clearly bouncing.

I understand! It is so hard to determine which way to go. As you know have had many of those struggles. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut. The good news is that no matter what you decide to do if it doesn't work out the way you expect you can always go the other way.

I do want to point out that even when I reduced Sammy's insulin it took a couple of cycles to clear the larger depot and to see that the lower dose really was much better for him. I think in the past I probably increased back up a little too quickly before seeing how things will pan out. Just something to keep in mind if you decide to try a reduction.

Thanks Patricia. Max is so strange. He does well for weeks at a time and then loses it. It could be the darn pancreatitis, too much insulin of nog enough. I decided to not change anything tonight. There's always a little guesswork as I try to compensate for bubbles big. small, or not at all.

It's just one cycle. I wouldn't make any dosing decisions based on it. He did get to the 50's yesterday on this dose. Let's see what he does tonight. His SS doesn't say too much insulin to me.

Thanks Wendy for looking. What I was noticing was not just one cycle but all the yellow preshots. His Nadirs are fine but then he jumps up so quickly. Hopefully ge will settle down again soon.

Hi Elise! I hope Max's numbers even out for you - at least he made it to the lagoon tonight. I'm glad to read that he is eating well. I hope your mom is doing okay. Sending vines all around.

Thanks Bron and Deanna. I gave him ondansetron this morning and tonight in case it's pancreatitis. It very well could be but with a good appetite it would be unusual. He's crying for food again right now. I really wonder if he could lose a couple pounds if that would help. Even one would help but he stays at a little over 16 pounds. He either drops too low and then bounces or stays too high.
