I cant find it on the website.
Have they stopped production of this line of food?

Well, I'm sure that would be nice for them except that the NF (for renal kitties and which our renal kitty completely refused to eat anyway) has way too many carbs for diabetics and the DM (which Rosa also refused to eat) has too much phosphorus for renal kitties. I've just emailed them explaining why they're going to lose my business over this decision - they simply don't have another food that's suitable for both conditions at once. In fact, out of all the prescription foods, the only one that covers both is the Iams Max Calorie, so anyone who really wants to feed prescription and cover both low carb and low phosphorus is going to be stuck with that (and probably a very fat cat too if they're getting a maximum calorie food every day). There's no way I'd even think about switching all 6 of the cats here to a prescription only anyway...4 of them don't need it and the cost for feeding 6 cats that way would be ridiculous!

I was using Hills. When I saw the DMA on the amount of carbs I switched shadow out to the Friskies. He likes the chicken dinner in grave which is still to high. but 50% less carbs. So I began cutting it with the Turkey and Giblet pate'. Which he had no problem with.
Shadow is not diabetic. He is susceptible to crystals though. I was going to bring him in for a follow up urinalysis to see if the Friskies was doing the job. Looks like that is out now. :(
I am going to have to talk to the vet and discus the possibility of him having a biofilm. This possibility was brought to my attention by one of our members. There is no reason for a cat that is on a raw diet to go up to a pH of 8.0. Especially since he had no bladder problems prior to me feeding him Wellness foods.
 
Can anyone help me? I'm new, and because of MY illnesses, can't do the insulin route. My Vet says treatment with just food is about a 50/50 chance. He now eats Purina Mixed Grill Pate, and very little Meow Mix dry food. The Vet wants Rusty on their wet and dry food. What are thoughts on this? Please! I go tomorrow to discuss it with her, and get THEIR food. Of course if it doesn't work, I'll have to switch to insulin.
 
Ditch the Meow Mix as it is very high carb. Evo Cat and Kitten dry is low carb, as is Young Again 0 Carb (internet only, seems pricey but they eat less. Canned Friskies Mixed Grill is about 11% calories from carbohydrate. The other plain Friskies pates such as Turkey and Giblet and Poultry Platter are under 10% calories from carbohydrates.

Thanks BJM, I think I already thanked you from my home computer, but now I'm getting my emails on my phone again! I will try the Friskies Turkey and Giblets. Also, I need help with looking at a conversation I asked, got a reply it says i 'Inbox' but I can't get the reply, even tho I hit 'conversation'! This site is really difficult to navigate.
 
If you put your cursor over the "Inbox" tab, without clicking on it, it should show you a drop-down of your conversations. Just click on the one you want to read and it should open it for you. :)

The other thing you can try, if Rusty is really only happy with the Mixed Grill flavor food is to mix it with one of the lower carb ones to bring it under the 10%. He might be more likely to eat it that way as it will have at least some of the flavor he really likes.

Look into Merrick Classic.
Which is their original line. The new line is high in carbs.
There are a lot of good choices out there for every budget.
You absolutely need to dump the dry food though.
 
Already did. He only munched on the dry food at night, so not real difficult. Thanx for the info!
