Hi Jamye. Does it say anything on the label of the antibiotic about giving with food? I know Clavamox can be hard on the stomach if the kitty hasn't eaten. Just something to keep in mind.

When you start a new thread, you can add a link to the old one, so people can easily go back and check what's been said before. To do this, type a name for the link, like "Fred's Yesterday". Then, using a separate tab, open the previous thread and copy the url address. Go back to the new one and highlight the name you typed. Then click on the link symbol on the toolbar for your post (third box from the left). Paste the URL in the dialog box and click 'Insert". That will create the link in your new thread.

Hang in there. You're doing great and you're getting some terrific advice. We are all pulling for Fred to get better.

The bottle of antibiotics doesn't specify to give with food. But he's been eating. I just read an alarming article about the antibiotic.FDA warns Flagyl should only be used when necessary as it has been known to be carcinogenic. I'll start new thread tomorrow.

We have to use Flagyl on our dog for flareups of colitis. It's a short period of time and he does well on it (usually about 5 days). I wouldn't worry about it too much. There are more things to get back under control first. :) Glad that he's doing better.
