Sammy has been on the reduced dose for two cycles, and his numbers do seem to be rising. I know there isn't such a thing as NDW when decreasing, but I am wondering if the pancreas has to realize it has to work?

I guess if I don't see some better numbers by tomorrow morning I am going to increase back up, at least to .25 unit, and possibly back to the fat .25 unit.

I am also considering starting to use the calipers for measuring the dose. I think I do a pretty good job on measuring, but I have noticed recently that the plungers of the syringes are a bit different from one syringe to the next, all in the same box. I do rely a bit on the shape and size of the syringe when measuring so I am wondering if the dose has been a little off. And when you are talking about such a small dose 1 or 2 drops difference can really make a huge difference.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hopefully he just needs a little more time to settle in. Trix always took a while to settle in, and I sweat she usually had NDW whether it was an increase or decrease. Hopefully Sammy will take your threat seriously and start working that reducie!!

Good luck with the calipers. Yep, it's amazing what a difference a drop can make with these teeny doses!

Have a great day, Tina!

Ditto about the drops mattering. I have two boxes of the cherished terumos and I have been opening quite a few to find the ones that have the same markings. I use calipers too as well as needing to adjust for bubbles so it sure is hard to get the exact dose daily. I hope you don't need to go back up.

I hope that is all it is. He is about the same at PMPS as he was this morning, so at least that is good. I kept the skinny dose again this evening, and hopefully it will go well tonight. As long as he is about the same for AMPS tomorrow I will keep the skinny dose again in the morning, but if he is much higher then I will go back up a bit.

I hope Sammy settles into this does for you. Good luck with the calipers. A drop can make a difference.

I tired the calipers tonight, but it was too hard to hold the syringe, the calipers and use my phone on zoom to see what I was doing. I am going to see if DH has any solutions to help me out.

I hope we don't have to go back up either. His PS today were higher than I would like, but he was under 90 for the rest of the day today. Hopefully that will remain the same over night. It would be extremely wonderful if he dropped under 60 tonight, but I am not counting on it.

When I measure Furball's dose, I eyeball where I think it should be on the syringe and then hold the syringe up to the calipers to see if it needs to be adjusted. I can't hold the syringe, pen and calipers all at the same time.

I got an Artograph light box recommended by Marge on Amazon. It works well because I can lay the syringe on it. I'm not sure you will need one as well as Sammy is doing (anti-jinx).
