Question about increase in dose

I am planning to increase Lucy's insulin dose back to 1.5 units. We have had 5 days of uninterrupted doses at 1.25 units and have had some green and blue numbers but not as often as we were on 1.5 units though it is possible we have had some green and blue numbers overnight and I have not seen them because I have been doing less tests. I have been exhausted and needed sleep as having a chronic illness is not easy at times so that is also why I stayed with 1.25 units this past week. So I just wanted to check if I am following the protocol correctly in increasing to 1.5 units. Lucy has no diabetes symptoms and I am very happy about that. Thank you.

You definitely have room to increase the dose. I really don't think that Lucy dropped too much overnight. She may have bounced from a blue but I doubt that she was in anywhere near low numbers. That said, she does bounce on blues.

Hi Voula!
Good to 'see' you. Haven't seen you post for a while, but have seen you post in other condos. Sorry to hear you are so tired all the time. That must be very hard for you:bighug::bighug:
Am pleased Lucy is doing well

Thank you Sienne. Yes we do have bouncing from blue numbers. I do agree it is unlikely that Lucy had very low glucose levels overnight. I appreciate your reply and your opinion about increasing the dose.

Thank you Bron. I have been reading posts and posting in other condos. Yes Lucy is doing well in terms of having no symptoms of diabetes. I have been very tired lately and I think maybe the struggles of the past year and a half have caught up with me at the moment. Time to look after myself a bit better than I have in recent months. You must be so happy at how well your Sheba is doing and I hope you can have a few daytime naps as it seems you must be up a lot during the night. But the results are well worth it for Sheba and for you too.
