I woke up to Max trying to throw up but he didn't have anything in there. Then he was chewing on the fur of the carrot. I think he is nauseous so I gave him some ondansetron this morning. He did eat his Gerber's and was hungry because he came out from under the bed on his own. On the positive side I guess he was green all night. Wendy, he hasn't had x-rays other than the one that showed some changes in his spine. I get him checked every 4 months so he's due soon and I'll see what my vet says.

Vines and prayers to all in need with extras for Tricia's 4, Amy's DF, Chris's DM, and anyone else in need. I'm excited that a few are about to successfully end their OTJ trials.
 
Very nice start indeed. Sending prayers that his tummy has settled and you both have a great day. Prayers for your Mom, too!

Yes on not having to drag him out from under the bed. He has a pretty good food spike which I kind of expected with eating well. I think the ondansetron is working.
 
Thanks Carla. Just dragged him out from under the bed for a test. Surfing blue so won't check again until +5 or he gets very vocal.

I'm starting to doubt that amps test. I didn't double check as I'm trying to avoid that and I was more concerned about the vomiting.

So got 179 but iit didn't make sense and I felt I didn't have enough blood Arkray was 97. Recheck with Relion was 97 so hence the 99. I'll test one more time in an hour or two to see what makes sense. I know I said I wouldn't recheck but I couldn't resist. :banghead:

I hope Max feels better soon. Happy to see he's spent some good time in the lagoon and looks to be headed back in again.

(((((Elise))))) You know Max so well, good quick thinking on the ondansetron--gentle hugs and scritches for Max to feel better so that you don't have to drag him from under the bed! (that's not good for your back! :bighug::bighug:)

RE: the meters? You're still using the old strips for the Relion aren't you? I am terrified to use the new Relion strips that say ultra or whatever, with my old meters. Wondering if I should have gotten a couple of new meters? Any thoughts? And I know how you could not stop yourself from re-testing, I am a chronic re-tester myself... can you say OCD :oops:)

I was given some of the new ones for my Arkray. They are so much better at sipping up the blood. I suggest you get them as soon as you near the end of your supply. You don't need new meters.

The meter variance is just crazy making. If two out of three match I go with it unless the first test makes sense +or- 20%.

I haven't seen a Tiger condo in a while. How are things going?

Sure hope Max is feeling better tonight, Elise and will return to more "Max-like" numbers!

I know you have to be as frustrated as I am, but I guess all we can do is just keep the faith and pray that everything works out (sooner rather than later, please kitties!)
 
Sorry the meters are still driving you mad. It seems like the ondanestron is working pretty well today though, hope that continues! I had to laugh and think of FDMB when my friend said she had an ondanestron shot in ber cocktail of meds with a surgery on Tuesday. It seems to work for her, too!
 
Thanks for the visits. No +9 snack and not too bad a PMPS number. I gave him more ondansetron with a little Gerbers which he ate but he turned down his ff.
 
Overall, really good numbers today for Max. I was just looking at his spreadsheet, and I sure see alot of blue and green with only a rogue yellow here and there. I know you're frustrated with your meter issues, but I really think he's doing very well.

I'm glad the Ondansetron helped his tummy. It is so stressful for us when they won't eat. Sending lots of good tummy and appy vines, and prayers for your DM. :bighug:

I am frustrated with the meters but also because he hasn't been able to come down in the amount of insulin he gets like so many others. I guess some of that is his size, being 16 pounds, not not all of it. Nothing I can do about it though. Thanks for stopping by, Tricia.
