Yikes! Best to check for ketones with sugars like that!

Those numbers are like Sluggo when he was first diagnosed.

How is he clinically? Eating? Not acting real lethargic?

Amazingly enough Tuxie (ant jinx) has never had ketones. When he was first diagnosed he could hit numbers up to 600 and basically stayed there. That was when I was first using Lantus. I changed to Levemir after about 1 1/2 months and it seems to work better for him. I am anal about testing for ketones so he is checked every day, sometimes twice :)

Tuxie (knock on wood) has never lost his appetite. That is basically the one thing that has remained constant with him. That is why I can test as much as I do...he is VERY food motivated.

As I look out the window at the heat rising up off the ground, it's hard to imagine snow falling. Bet it's beautiful!

Sure hope Tuxie works his way down tonight (but not too far, Tuxie! Be a good boy and show some restraint!).

We did not get as much snow as they were forecasting..only 1/2 of the forecast of 10-15cm (4-6 inches) but the winds were awful and the very damp cold made it feel like winter again..brrr!!! The snow is melting and should be gone today, since it is just above freezing now.

Tuxie appears to have just stalled out and is currently cruising the pinks. Actually I would rather see that than the big BG swings, but I am sure he will be right back up there for PMPS. In the meantime this is the perfect day to grab a nice afternoon nap and catch up on some lose sleep ( 6 months worth :) ). I do think I test too much, but I am so scared of him doing a sudden drop later in the cycle so I stay up late to test and then it takes me an hour to get to sleep. Sleep deprivation is highly over-rated. :D
