I know we are only suppose to have one post per day, but I figured since this really isn't a condo it would be okay.

A few days ago, I spoke to someone about getting small glass dishes that would fit in the PetSafe auto-feeder and still provide enough room for it to rotate. I am sorry I don't remember who it was that I was talking to about it, but I found some dishes that I thought would work and they came today and they are perfect.

They are 2 oz dishes that are small enough to fit in the PetSafe 5 well auto feeder compartments.

Here is the link.

I am planning on ordering a few more so that I have enough to fill both feeders, with a few left over. I have plans to try freezing some water in the compartment with the glass dish in place so that it will help keep the food cold longer. It will be an experiment.

Oh, these might be perfect! I was just discussing with fiancé what we could do since kitty likes to take the food out of the feeder and eat on my sneakers :-/

Yes! How are they working?
They work perfectly. I put the small dishes in the tray and then put a bit of water in the tray round the dish, then I freeze it. Then I fill the dishes and set the timer. I guess you could also just skip the freezing part also, I just wanted to try it to see if it would work.

Sammy still tends not to eat at night unless I stimulate him with a BG test, but after that he will typically eat. So we haven't used the feed all that much other than to try it out to make sure it works. I tend to use it when I don't want to get up to test, or when I know he won't go too low over night.

We might be using it more often in the near future once I get a new job and can't come up every couple of hours to check on him. I just wish there were a way to have a remote to be able to rotate the feeder whenever I want when I am not home. I will have to get to work on that and see what I can come up with.
