Good morning, Marshmellow is still recovering from the bounce, hopefully she plays nice today with those numbers. Janelle (wife) will check a +1 today so we can see what Marshy does after a shot. I need to get a couple of hours sleep, got out at 3AM, need a few more than 2 1/2 hours beauty for this old dog! Will check in shortly. Have a great day!

Marshmellow is about the area she has been bouncing. Would this be a good time to give perhaps a couple of ounces of LC food to try and stabilize?

Sorry no one answered your question earlier. If you are worried about bouncing, you can experiment and feed and make notes so you'll know what works and what doesn't for the future. Did you feed her?

I just thought I'd ask, I know everyone gets busy and has things to do. No, I tested an hour later and she appeared to have started to rise, so hopefully at PMPS she will be good. Seems like when she hits the blues, she bounces. I am just hoping they become smaller as she gets used to it. Thanks.

Bounced again, perhaps next time pre-nadir is blue, will try a couple of ounces LC to see if that will stabilize her. She is definitely stubborn!

I think I'd probably go up to 1.75 tomorrow and see if we can get her down into some better numbers.

She may bounce from greens, but she's bouncing from blues too, so if we can get her into better numbers for as long as possible, we're giving her pancreas some "healing time"

I have no problem trying the 1.75, but is it ok to do in the middle of a bounce?

The only time you wouldn't want to increase is if the bounce was breaking...if they break a bounce on the same cycle you increase on, they could go down fast

It looks like she may be bouncing off the blues today...I think she'd be fine to increase in the morning since she doesn't usually break her bounces that fast

Let's see what @julie & punkin (ga) @Marje and Gracie @Sienne and Gabby @Wendy&Neko have to say

I think you've got room to increase. You've been at this dose 10 cycles and no green yet. From the protocol sticky:

Increasing the dose:
  • Hold the dose for 3 - 5 days (6 - 10 consecutive cycles) if nadirs are less than 200 before increasing the dose by 0.25 unit.
    • if your cat is new to numbers under 200, it is recommended to hold the dose for at least 8-10 cycles before increasing.
    • when your cat starts to see nadirs under 100, hold the dose for at least 10 cycles before increasing.
Libby did a great note on increasing on bouncing in this post.

Thanks Chris and Wendy, I have to head to work shortly, I will check in the morning, but your advice appears sound. The reason I thought I should hold a does is found here - See Bouncing -sorry I can't do the fancy quote like you did Wendy:joyful:.

The difference is we're not increasing due to the high "bounce" numbers....we're suggesting the increase due to the "too high" nadir numbers

At least that's the way I understand it
That makes sense when I look at her nadirs, it's just a little confusing reading all this and trying to put it to work. I'll give it a try, I'll stay awake in the morning long enough to watch where here numbers go after the dose. I have to head to work now, will check the post in A.M. Thanks.
