So Rosa's managed her first week and a half OTJ. I still worry waiting for the meter to come up with her number on her weekly test, but so far so good. And I do find it difficult to wait a full week between tests, though I have managed to hold off on taking extra tests so far as I'm letting her behavior guide me on knowing whether or not she's doing OK. She still tests in the 90s but is clearly feeling great and doesn't appear to be creeping up in numbers so I'm not worrying about her being in the higher half of normal range.

She's a very happy cat at the moment. She's remembered that she is, to use our housemate's words an "up cat" and that the floor isn't somewhere she wants to be unless it's feeding time. She's rediscovered lots of fun places she can climb to now she's back to full strength and we constantly find her on the kitchen table or counter (none of the cats are really meant to be on the counter but I think she knows I don't have the heart to tell her off for it at the moment) or on one of the dressers in the bedroom, the bed, or the computer tables, or pretty much anywhere that involves being more than 3ft off the floor! The one exception she made was when our housemate got a package in the mail - it was a decent sized box with lots of brown paper in it for packing. She decided it was the perfect place to build a nest out of the paper. So it's still sitting in the front room in front of the TV - we don't have the heart to throw it out when she obviously loves it so much. It's great to see her back to full strength and running around happily! :D She has, however, become rather over attached to me following the weeks where she had to be tested and have insulin and now tries to follow me everywhere - even sitting in the (empty) bathtub while I'm brushing my teeth.

Needless to say, we're loving having her back to her normal self. She's a little troublemaker, but she always used to be too and it's been lovely seeing her cheeky side re-emerge as she's realized she can now get back into all the trouble she used to cause because she's strong enough to run and jump if she annoys one of the other cats and has to get away quickly! :D

I'm really glad to hear Panther's doing well too - of course it's not as stressful looking after them once they're OTJ (how could it be), but I'm not sure the slight worry about "what if" ever goes away so it's always great to hear when they're feeling good! :D

What a great report on Rosa!!

Of course she'll get away with whatever she wants....and if you decide to clamp down on her again, I wouldn't put it past her to raise her BG number just a little to make you worry and feel sorry for her...LOL

These sugarcats of ours sure have us wrapped around their paws, don't they?

Oh don't they just. ;) I'm sure the other cats are putting her up to causing all the trouble at the moment because they know she'll get away with it!! And yes, I know full well if I even think about telling her off she'll throw me a 140 or something similar so I finish up feeling sorry for her and apologizing for being angry with her! She's just persuaded me to put out all fresh food because we were out for a few hours...apparently the food I left before we went out just isn't good enough 4 hours later today so of course they're all eating an extra dinner right now! ;)

Gee sounds like Panther doesn't like what I give him so he puts up a fuss to get the can he wants spoiled nah big brat
Yeah, or 2 of them will eat the food I put out first then I go through another 4 flavors trying to please the rest of them too! The things we do for our kitties to keep them happy!! ;)

Thanks everyone. :) She's rediscovered another old trick in the last 2 days too - she's remembered that running at full speed from the other end of the house when she hears the front door open often means she can escape to outside without her harness on...she's been keeping me busy! ;) Fortunately, she doesn't run far once she does get outside - she just hangs around a few feet from the house...not that I'd trust her out there on her own - if she gets bored who knows where she'd wander off to next!

And I can safely say the cats own me in this house. I'm just the slave who provides food and scritches...and it'd better be when they say so too!! ;) :D

But of course. ;) Cats love PJ parties - after all, they can sleep all day while we're busy!! Our tabby baby even climbs on the bed in the mornings now and licks and bites at our fingers until we give up and get out of bed...then she claims the middle of the bed all to herself for the day so she can sleep!!
