Hello!!

Yesterday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/4-15-billie-pmps-451.136330/

Yellow is looking mighty pretty compared to last night's PMPS! I think my clever girl must have gotten some contraband somehow. She went down fast after her shot and hovered around 200 last night, then was flat around 250 today.

She had a good day! Nice appy. DBF was BIC tonight because I'm at work and he said she was in good spirits. She always jumps up on her favorite bookshelf when he comes in, and she gets scritches. :)

Sending vines to all the kitties and beans needing vines, and so many prayers to Milo's mommy.

No visits to the lagoon for a week...and she dives right into the deep end??? I had DBF shoot 3 hours before I'd be home from work thinking that would be okay. It was just barely okay! He left a ton of food out but one of her dinner bowls was totally empty already and she was working on the other when I got in the door, so she was definitely eating through her drop. Wow. She got some gravy, of course. Billie, you win. I'm thoroughly confused.

Billie, we like green surfs, but generally we prefer them to be in the 70s and 80s. Care to come up a bit, please?

Deanna, you are just under a year post dx, so I guess you could take a reduction on that 41. Good luck, should you decide to take it, and good luck if you don't! :p:D

Thanks for stopping by, Elise and Tricia! I am truly confused...before this happened tonight, I was thinking she might need an increase! Her appy seems stable (antijinx!) so I am thinking about holding the dose and monitoring more. It was not hard to get her back up - it just took one dose of gravy. Her numbers have been kind of gross overall lately, so it's bizarre to me that all of a sudden she landed in the 40s. And she dove very hard even though she ate a nice portion of dinner (DBF reported) and cleaned another plate of food between PMPS and +3. I will probably have a bounce to shoot through in the morning, so I'll have some time to mull it over. Any opinions are welcome! If I do reduce, I'll go with a fat 1.5 because she has not held full reductions well.

Since you are almost a year into this and it was easy to bring her up I probably would hold the dose. Another thing to consider though is that pancreatitis might have kept her BG elevated and she may be getting over it. It's your call. There is a good case to hold or to reduce. I hope you get more opinions.

I'd be pretty tempted to reduce, sounds like she may have already eaten her way out of even lower numbers..

She cleared the bounce nicely. In my opinion there is no clear cut answer as to whether to try the reduction or hold. What is your gut telling you to do?

Well this probably isn't going to clear the confusion any, but I'll add it since you're asking for opinions

Since she is at about that "1 year" mark, I might try holding the dose and seeing if she drops below 50 again....there's no "right or wrong" answer and you don't HAVE to wait for her to drop below 50 three times either (what a lot of the "older diabetics" do)

If she does another dive in the next few cycles, you could go ahead and take the reduction then

Are we making it about as clear as mud for you?...lol

Chris, thanks for weighing in too! I do appreciate it. I am thinking that if she really wants a reduction, she'll let me know again... So my gut is leaning towards holding the dose and definitely getting +2 tests. If her PMPS happens to be low tonight, that would make me think I should take the reduction, but we'll see what she does. She often bounces up again after clearing a bounce.

FWIW that is what I would do too. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Thanks Elise and Marilyn! Her PMPS was 349 so I think she's doing that double bounce thing that she sometimes does. I'm holding the dose, and we'll see what happens. I ended up late with her shot because I had to stay late at work, so that may affect things, but we'll see. I'll be keeping a close eye on her, and I'm sure she'll tell me if she needs less juice. She seems happy tonight despite the stinky pink - good appy, at the door when I came home, very very enthusiastic for the tuna snack she gets with her ondansetron. Sorry I never made a new condo for today - time ran away from me! Tomorrow is my day off and I'm very happy about that. I hope everyone is having a nice night!
