Looking at these numbers, it looks like maybe last night was a fur shot? She hasn't gone red in over 2 weeks other than for skipped or very greatly reduced shots. It didn't feel like one, didn't smell like one, but maybe... She has been extra wiggly for her shots lately. Or maybe she's just a cat and had a weird bounce. Either way, should I restart my 6 cycle count at 1.25u or consider a dosecrease sooner? 6 cycles from the 18 hour cycles would be Monday PM, but she's seeing a little green here so I could be more conservative.

Other than last nights weird numbers, she's in great form. She ate from the autofeeder for 3 small meals while I wasn't here, no prodding or anything! She's keeping a very close eye on all the birds outside and enjoying an open window now. I spent the morning cheering on teammates at the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler here in DC, thought I'd share some pictures of the trees in peak bloom. They're not fully pink yet, probably later today or tomorrow, but still so beautiful!!

Nice pics!
I'd be inclined to think maybe a bit of bouncing if she's recently had greens, in which case I wouldn't start the count over. (On my phone, so spreadsheets don't always show up)

That does look like it might be a bounce - look how her numbers started off blue at PMPS last night and went straight up from there. I wonder if she maybe did dip into green between +4 and +8 yesterday or between +8 and PMPS and that triggered it. I think I'd wait and see what happens today before deciding whether or not to restart the dose count - if that red number this morning was her breaking a bounce she should give you better numbers by the end of today. Beautiful pics - thank you for sharing those. :)

Beautiful pictures. There have been times I've wondered if I gave a fur shot, but I didn't start the count over because I wasn't sure. Sometimes they just have weird bounces.

Holy bounce breaking, Noodle!! I guess this goes to show I need to get some late cycle tests when possible if she's breaking a bounce.

Gave her full dinner plus 1tsp gravy. She's starving and was due for the full 1.5oz anyways, so I didn't want to withhold. How should I handle this? Skip? Wait for her to rise for a couple hours? 18 hour cycle? How come she can read her condos with dosecrease threats, but not the ones about not bouncing!?

(Also, I thought I'd responsed to everyone earlier, guess I never hit send :banghead: )

You could stall for about 20 min. and not feed and see if she comes up any. If not, I would consider skipping the shot. Shooting during a bounce recovery can make them slide down faster.

Way to make sure your bean's awake Noodle!!!

At the very least I'd stall...and reduce since that 42 all the way at PMPS looks like she's earned it. You might want to skip (I'm not sure I could shoot so soon after a number under 50) ;) , or you might want to stall and keep the momentum going while she's doing so well if you can adjust her dosing tomorrow to work with a late shot.

Thanks, Carla. I did consider that, but being so low in the 40s (retest 42, 44), I really felt safer going ahead and feeding her to bring her up, she was really hungry. I did notice her hunting around for food for the past couple hours--at least I've seen she will try to feed herself when she's dropping that swiftly. I should have tested then, but was anticipating an active cycle tonight since she was sliding down so I thought I could wait til PMPS and figured she was just ready for dinner.

Remembering the misery of the late PMPS next week, I'm thinking I'll skip or just do 18 hours depending on how high she is at +18.

Keep in mind that the +18 could be food influenced depending on when she eats. Skipping will help drain the depot. I would definitely reduce her dose after the 42.

Oh, I hear you on that one. I remember when I was giving Rosa's shots at 9 and 9 early on and having to stay up until 5 or 6 in the morning to get her stable when she started heading down. If she's still in normal numbers or close to it at +18, I'd be inclined to skip the shot completely and start over with the reduced dose in the morning.

Any thoughts on an 18 hour cycle vs skipping?

ETA: +16-17 show me she's pretty much skyrocketing right now. I'll give her the reduced dose at +18 and get her back on track tomorrow PM. I'd rather do that then let her be without insulin for 6 more hours.
