Trix seems to be feeling good and back to herself...anti-jinx. Of course I'm feeling very cautious about saying that. But she is snuggly and bright-eyed and was looking for adventure after her first breffis....doing normal Trixie stuff. I'm just a nervous jittery disaster from all that has happened over the last few weeks.

My Dad seems about the same. We saw him briefly yesterday, but he couldn't stay awake for dinner. He's officially done with the AB, at least for now. Who knows how long it will take to clear his system so we can see if that is the root of the problem. Today I did some googling about chemo interacting with this AB - I hadn't searched on this combo before. I am finding some VERY scary stuff...this AB actually IS a chemotherapeutic agent - I am seeing my Dad's symptom's all over the 'net now under fluoroquinolone toxicity syndrome....and it sounds like some of the damage could be permanent.

In the meantime, my Mom has to call this morning to schedule the CT scan. She did clarify that his chest x-ray shows his lungs to be clear now, whereas when he was admitted into the hospital, they could see the pneumonia. That further leads me to believe that the AB is contributing to this, but I guess it's definitely a good idea to rule other things in or out with further testing. So we wait...

Time to get moving...back to work. Blech. Have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

Morning Amy :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Very nice trixie report! Keep on truckin' Trixie, you are doing great.

I hope all will be well with your dad. Probably a good idea on the CT scan, just to make sure. Paws crossed for a speedy recovery now that the AB is done.

Have a good day today. I hope all will go well.

Great news on Trixie.

Thinking of you and your family. Hopefully your dad will get better without those ABs. Scary stuff. ((((Amy))))

I'm glad that Trixie is back to "normal", whatever that is for a cat.

I hope being done w/ the ABs will help your DF, sending more vines. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

That's great Trixie is doing so well. I hope your dad feels better after the ABs get out of his system. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug:

Nice to read that Miss Trixie is doing so well and to see her numbers looking soooo good (anti-jinx, of course!).

I'm sorry your DF isn't showing more improvement, but clear lungs is a very good thing. Will you be able to discuss your finding with his doctors? I think I would want to know what they think about what you found.

Sending continued prayers and vines.

Many continuous vines for your Dad. (I'm thinking kudzu.) That stuff is scary, it's good you're looking it up. I'm glad to hear Trixi is being her usual self. And splashing in the lagoon! :D

Sending lots of vines and prayers to your DF, your DM, and you. I hope the AB course being complete will be the start of a positive turn for him. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Plenty of anti-jinx vines Trixie's way, too, glad she's being cuddly and back to her normal self!

@Tricia & Cinco - I do plan on discussing this with my Dad's doctor tomorrow - along with printouts highlighting all the symptoms my Dad has. Everything is pointing to toxicity from this AB. He's a good doctor, but he's an oncologist and not an infectious disease doc, so he just doesn't have the AB experience that someone who works in that area has. Plus he's pretty darned young...I am sure there are still things out there he hasn't seen yet. My Mom is a bit "concerned" about me bringing this up, but I think it is very important that the reaction be noted in his files, and that he never get this class of drugs again. She doesn't like to question authority...me, I got no problem with it - especially when you're talking about someone's health and life!

Right on! It's important for your DF to have an educated advocate. We tend to look at doctors as being all-knowing and infallible, but as we FD parents know, they can't be experts on everything. Many doctors appreciate patients and family members that do research and ask questions. Sending tons of good vines for tomorrow.

Good on you, I think any smart doctor would appreciate you bringing this to their attention. Either they get to show off and say no it's not that because... Or they learn something for the better health of all their patients.

Go Trixie, looking gorgeous
