How often do you have blood work at vet when you home test?

My vet is very easy going so whatever I decide I know he'll be ok.
I got a call saying he wants to run a diabetes panel. Last one was when we came out of remission in mid December. I test daily. We are doing well so I wonder if really necessary.

Typically I get a full panel done yearly. Sometime a little more time and sometimes less if problems are suspected. I never go for a "diabetic panel", whatever that is.

I assumed it was that they just want to do numbers in office. In December we had full blood work up

For my cats I would have a full senior panel run once a year. However, I always refused to do a followup fructosomine test. Since they knew I tested daily, it was never an issue with any of the vets.

Bandit gets a senior blood panel once a year, but we don't do any bloodwork for his diabetes in the vet's office. Blood glucose tests are useless at the vet because stress inflates the numbers, and there is no need to do a fructosomine if you're testing daily--if your vet wants to get an idea of his average BG, he can get that from your spreadsheet. Has he seen your spreadsheet? It is actually more revealing than a fructosamine because he can see how his BG is trending on specific doses.

There's one vet at the practice I go to who says she thinks we need to run a fructosamine every time Bandit comes in (if for some reason we can't get in to see his regular vet). I always decline and explain politely that I'm home testing, and I'd be happy to share those values with her if she would like to get an idea of what his BG is like.

Mine is more than willing to look at his SD. He's on vacation this week so I'm going to email it to him this week so he can see Monday. Since we did just do blood work I didn't make appointment.
I don't want to stress Milo out either. If he were showing symptoms or having other issues he'd be in ASAP. I just wondered what others did.

Thanks :)
