I thought Sheba had come off the bounce by PMPS (am I correct?) and the next cycle on 5.75 was in high numbers, so I have increased the dose back to 6 units. Have I done the right thing?
I had a good sleep last night and feel so much better.
I answered the last few posts from yesterday in yesterday's post. Thanks
Bron

I'm running out the door but just wanted to start your day off with a :bighug:.

You're doing fine! The thing about FD is that if you try one thing and decide it didn't work, there will no doubt be another opportunity to try to do something different the next time!!!:)

Looks like Sheba is breaking her bounce and responding well to the 6U. :) Julie is right (of course). A lot of FD is trying something and seeing what works for your cat.

A good night's sleep does make things seem better.

Sorry Bron I didn't see your request, if you tag me (@Vyktors Mum) and I'm on the board I will come or if I'm not here send me a PM which gives me an email alert. Your PM cycle is at a time I can usually be available for advice and/or moral support if needed :)

Hang in there Bron, Soon those green shots won't feel quite so scary. You have lots of good eyes here. ( not mine, I'm too new ~ but I can relate to those scary low numbers)

Thanks Serryn,
So far, so good. Sheba had a bit of a food spike but has come back down to 6.1(110) at +4
Thanks for being around. I appreciate it. Hopefully I will be fine but it is comforting to know you are there:)
By the way, how do you tag someone?

I changed Sheba's second meal at +3 from home prepared, no carbs, to a can of low carb and gave her some of it at +2.5. I was not too happy to use canned but wanted to see if it gave a smoother drop- which it did. So I will have to look at how to increase the carbs a bit but still keep raw diet.

She seems to have her biggest drop between +4 and +5 so giving her some carbs before that instead of trying to slow the drop once it starts, looks like it might work with her. What do you think??

As the drop was smooth and controlled I felt quite calm about letting it drop below 50.
So a double first for me tonight! First green preshot :Dand first drop below 50 :joyful:

Does that mean Sheba gets a reduction?:)

Congrats on that first green preshot! :D Nice of Sheba to give you one in the 90's to try it out. :)

Time to get her back over 50 again. Did you give her some high carb food with that 41?

Since Sheba is not a newly diagnosed diabetic but returning from being in remission, we would normally make it tougher to earn a reduction (one time below 40 or 3 times below 50). However, Sheba has held her reductions so far, and to me it looks like she's really wanting less insulin. So, my opinion is yes, take the reduction, and go to 5.5U this time.

Thanks Wendy!

Yes I have given Sheba some high carb food to bring her back up. Am just going to check her again to see she is holding up the number. She has been very cooperative all night. But gosh-she is a party animal!

WooHoo! I get to award you your Balls of Steel for shooting green the first time! Way to go, Bron!

Congrats! and well done on staying calm :D to tag someone you go like this @Bron and Sheba (as you type the user name the user options - those whose names start the same as what you're typing - will come up and you click on the one you want). You will notice that you now have an alert in the top right corner of your screen to let you know you've been tagged :)

Do you know how to send PMs?

Thanks Julie, Serryn and Voula for the congrats!:)
I am pretty pleased with myself too today:cool:
Thanks also for the tag info Serryn. Yes I know how to PM thanks and thanks for being around last night

And look - Sheba's starting off in blue today! Sometimes just a few times of shooting low can result in the whole range of blood sugar getting lowered. I hope that's what Sheba's going to do.

I keep wanting to tell you that our border collie when i was a kid was named Sheba. She was one smart dog! It's a good name!

Gosh it would be lovely if Sheba dropped lower generally although I am so happy with how she has gone so far since joining the forum.
The name Sheba would suit a border collie. I think it was my DH who chose the name Sheba....
