Mitz gets a dose reduction

Have you thought about decreasing by 0.25 units or 0.2 units (using U-100 syringes for this)?
Basically, you eyeball it using a U-40 syringe.
With a U-400 syringe, you can measure 0.2 unit increments.

Hi BJ,
I've actually gotten very good at eyeballing on the U-40 syringe, so even if I'm not getting exactly 2.75 for example, I'm able to keep the dose consistent. If Mitz ever gets down to less than 1 unit, I will definitely look into the U-100 syringes. I know I've seen a conversion chart posted somewhere on FDMB but I don't remember where.

Thanks Robin! I'm very happy about this. The vet wanted to reduce by a full unit but I'm not comfortable with such a big jump. I actually gave her another reduction this morning since I can't check on her mid-day. Hoping it doesn't send her numbers back up.
 
I just wanted to say, your spreadsheet is so pretty with all those blues and greens and yellows. :) I'm green with envy! :D Go Mitz!

I think you're smart to trust your gut & go slow with Mitz's dose reduction. My Bat doesn't handle big dose changes well at all. (Sometimes our vets don't seem to realize that ... and they're not the ones holding the syringe in their hands twice a day, either.) Bat bounced pretty hard a couple of times over the past week. But with the guidance of members like Sue, Lu & others who have more experience with how ProZinc works, I'm learning. :D

Thanks. It's a tricky balancing act between trusting myself or trusting my vet. I'm still learning, too.:)
Bat looks like a kitty I had many years ago. Pretty girl.

Robin, Mitz's SS is current thru tonight's shot. I'll be able get some midcycle numbers tomorrow. I'm very curious to see what Bat's next couple of cycles look like! Those numbers are looking promising...
