Good morning Meredith, just remember that it can take up to 6 cycles to clear a bounce and the numbers can wobble a bit during that time. I hope you are seeing that green really soon, Milo was so close the other night, and might very well have seen green when you weren't looking.

Thanks Tina
That's why we are holding here a few more days. I don't want to do a dosecrease if he's bouncing. I know according to TR I can, but this time we are going to clear this and see what we actually get prior to dosecrease. :)

Libby had a good post about dosing & bouncing here. It's #17 on the thread I just linked.

Depending on what your goals are for Milo, if you're wanting him into green numbers I think it's pretty clear he's not going to get there on 4.25u. The lowest this dose has gotten him is 106 and he's been long enough on it that I wouldn't expect it to get him lower now. One concern that comes with holding a dose too long is that a cat gets accustomed to whatever range their blood sugar is in. Then it takes increasing and even more insulin to bring their blood sugar down. That's called Glucose Toxicity and is the reason for not holding a dose that's not getting the cat where you want them to be.

Just a little more info to add in when you're making decisions.

Thank you. I read and did the dosecrease tonight. Of course there is no question of my goals for Milo. I'd like to get back into remission, but if that can't be achieved I want control over the diabetes.

I will get more checks in tonight and tomorrow. These past few days have been crazy but with dosecrease I know I need to get more numbers.

Good luck with the increase. For me and Neko on Levemir, I've found that any dose that gets some pink or red is not enough juice. Not sure will be the same is true for Milo. Paws crossed for greens this time - he was pretty close last dose.
