Hello Friends in Lantus Land,

It has been a while since I have been on the FDMB but I have been meaning to send an update to my online friends...Sienne and Gabby, Oh Bell, Julia and Bandit, Wendy and Tiggy , Carl, Polly and Bob, and Ann and Maggie.
As you probably remember, Our dear Oreo passed away a year ago and I can't tell you how much the love and support you gave me meant. As time passed, and we searched around and found two beautiful kitten brothers and adopted them last May. And yesterday it was their first year birthday! Our vet recommended getting male two kittens since we have a female 13 year old cat named Debbie. She was very lonely. We thought our vet was nuts suggesting kittens instead of an older cat. I mean wouldn't it be better getting another older cat since our cat was older? Well our vet really knew best. She felt that two kittens were a good choice so they would play with each other and not bug Debbie so much. Also, being kittens, Debbie seemed to understand and protect them. Lastly our vet felt it was better to get males since she felt it would not create future territorial issues. Debbie sleeps with them, grooms them and they have become friends. Her loneliness seems to have disappeared. Our lives are quite busy and we have to give them lots of playtime, but it is worth it.

Yesterday our neighbor told us their cat was just diagnosed with diabetes. So we will be helping them out. I guess what goes around comes around. But we really recommended FDMB as the best place to go for great information and support. I wish you all the best. From Nico and Max's mom! And here is the picture below.

How adorable. I'm glad you found some babies to help fill the Oreo-sized holes in your hearts. They won't take the place of the kitty you lost, but will certainly help you move on, and Debbie, too. Sounds like you have a very smart vet.

How lucky for your neighbor to have you next door to help. I'm sure you remember what a scary time it is when you first get the dx. I hope they will join the Board soon.

Awwww....they're adorable!

Really happy that you've found new fuzzy feets to love. As my DM says, "Love never divides, it just multiplies" so although your heart will always have room for Oreo, it always makes room for more love!

It's great that Debbie has accepted them so well too!

Such cuteness....they are beautiful. Congratulations!!! I love that Debbie adores them, too...that's wonderful!

Gawd those babies are precious!! Glad they are lucky enough to get a wonderful home and helping everyone heal. Good luck to your neighbor!

they are precious! we got 2 boy kitties after punkin died too - they make me smile. I'm glad you've got more love & mischief into your home now!

Those kitties are very handsome, and they sure are lucky to have found a home with you. And Debbie has a new role in life: grandma!

Thanks for visiting your LL family,

Ella & Rusty

Congrats on the new additions! They are adorable to say the least. I am so glad that Debbie has taken them in as her own. When we lost Mannie a couple of years ago it was the same with Elsa, she was very lonely too. We also adopted young cats. It worked out much the same as you described. They played together, giving Elsa the pace she needed being a senior, but also let her take on the matriarch role too.
Thanks for visiting, and the news!
