A big fat zero.....I have a feeling SOMETHING is moving around in there.....he is moving around a lot more and his appy has been a lot better, until I was stupid enough to give him the lactulose BEFORE breakfast this morning...:banghead::banghead::banghead:

He is now in his new normal spot....the bed my sister gave him. He did, again spend a good portion of the night sleeping with me, which I think is a good sign as well. I am not sure if his BG this morning is a sign of improvement or just carryover effect from his fluids last night (I am not sure how long that usually lasts). I am still sticking with the 0.25 as I am still not 100% confident in his appy....

I am sure everyone is exhausted from dancing so much, but if we could keep the poop dances and vines coming, that would be great....I got a bit more sleep last night (even though I woke up a few times), so I am feeling a little better, not much, but......at this point as much as I hate to say it, I almost want to do the enema if that is what is going to get this cleared up, I just don't want him to be super uncomfy either.

I am also thinking of starting the Fancy Feasts chicken with tonight's dinner, just in case that has something to do with it.......

SKOOTER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, JUST POOP, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just did the dance, will repeat at regular intervals.

Apparently it's catching Vyktor hasn't done his poop for today either, on his every second day schedule.

Skooter you are causing mayhem young man, how will you feel if the whole board catches it, I second your mom JUST POOP, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poop vines and prayers your way. Was there any action at all yesterday? When I asked on some of the lists about what works I was told that miralax tends to work better for many cats than lactulose. If you do continue with the lactulose you can purchase a tasteless powder.

So it looks like we will be going back to the ER vet (a different one) in the neck of the woods of @Jen&Eddie

Our regular vet is thinking that the one at the rectum must be basically plugging everything else up. She does not have the staff today to be able to sedate him, do the procedure and then monitor him the way he needs to, but she doesn't want to wait until tomorrow, either. I have already called the ER clinic (they are open 24/7) nad our regular vet will be sending them his x-rays and any other information they need.

Her concern is if there is a plug in esscence, that his colon could expand to 10 times its size. She said once they are able to clear him out, his blood sugars should come back down pretty quickly and he should start using the LB fairly regularly. I am hoping my mom will be able to go with me this time, considering I was crying last night when he was just getting fluids

Thank you all for the continued vines....they are much appreciated and here is to hoping I come home tonight and find a surprise and I don't have to take him, but if I do, let's hope they can clean him out!

Since Skooter seems to get back on track fairly quickly after a missed dose.....do you think it would be ok to skip his shot tonight, so I can get him to the vet earlier? I can bring all my stuff with and shoot him there if they let me....

But I am leaning towards skipping so I can get him there about 90 minutes earlier. Thoughts?

I don't often give dosing advice and I'm not really now but I would want to get to the vet as early as possible to get him feeling better as quickly as possible. So this is just my personal opinion and not based on anything but the fact that he gets back on track quickly after a missed dose and to lower your stress. Good luck.

I agree with Elise. It is more important to get him to a vet soon than to worry about his shot. People miss shots for all sorts of reasons, including fur shots! The kitties always get back on track.

Sending lots more vines,
and some :bighug::bighug::bighug: for you.

Ella & Rusty

Thanks guys, that was kind of what I was thinking, but I just needed someone to agree with me I guess lolol

I will be leaving work as close to 430 as possible (4 hours from now) and if there is no poop, then I will gather him up and bring him over.

((((Molly))))) I hope your mom can go with you. I'm with the others - schedule a fur shot for tonight. ;) Especially if he's not ketone prone.

I'm dancing to the Village's People's new release of the song formerly titled YMCA, but now called P O O P!

Tons of successful vetty vines your way.

(((Molly)))Oh I was so hoping I would find that Skooter had done his business this morning, I am hoping you get home to find a nice surprise in the LB, however, even if not, I'm so glad you are taking him back in to get this resolved. Here's another boatload of prayers and pooping vines! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:....I can't dance, but if I could, I'd be doing one too!

Since I don't see a new banner headline on your condo with good news, I'm assuming you have taken Skooter to the ER vet. Sending lots of vines and prayers for a successful outcome (a big one!). Many hugs for you, too, Molly. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sending more vines - wishing i had a clever dance to add, but that's beyond my talents! So just sending "freedom from stuck poo" vines to mr skooter.

So glad you've got good People helping you guys right now!

Sending good poop and vetty vines to you and Skooter! Having great vets in emergency situations really makes all the difference. I'm so glad you've got it right now :bighug:

Piling on more vines!!! When you get a chance Molly, you'll have to let me know which ER vet you are going to.

@Jen&Eddie he is at Affiliated Emergency Vet.....

They are so wonderful with him....they did an xray and it is still sitting therr and he has A LOT of gas......before the xray she was thinking of trying to keep him overnight on fluids....after xray decided to get it out....she is pretty sure she will be able to get all the old stuff out and he will be gassy.....she said she was very comfortable letting him come home.....I said I would be a helicopter momma....

I am feeling very comfortable with this clinic and that Skooter will FINALLY get some relief....

Continued prayers are welcomed and I will update when I know more.....having dinner with my mom, sister and great niece...

@Jen&Eddie he is at Affiliated Emergency Vet.....

Thanks Molly! If that's the one on Flying Cloud Drive, that's just down the road from where I live. We've never gone there, but always pegged that as the place to take the cats in an emergency situation. I'm really pleased to read that you and Skooter are having a positive experience there so far.

I'm really relieved to read that you're comfortable with the clinic, and that they're going to get Skooter cleaned out tonight and send him home with you. I'm sure his tummy will feel SOOOOO much better when they get him cleaned out.

@Jen&Eddie that indeed is the one! I would HIGHLY recommend them....

They are much nicer people, much nicer looking facility AND so far, less expensive than the place we went to on Sunday. ...

Skooter, I'm still poo dancing and getting really tired. Pleeeeese poop! I know you will feel so much better!

Molly, wishing you & Skooter all the best at the Vets. They will get him to poop and then the both of you will feel a lot better.
Paula:)

Weeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllll......four days for dancing, cheering, etc HAS FINALLY PAID OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They did an x-ray and she said it wasn't as bad as she originally thought, but there was a gas build up in between the old dried poop and the new poop. They did use mild sedation and then did the enema. In part from his medical record: "After the first large fecal ball was removed, a much larger amount was defecated by Skooter since he was still actively pushing."

It was so great, when we got there, they already had a file started, my vet had sent over his records and we basically went right into a room. Everyone was beyond wonderfully nice and sweet. I think it helped bringing his little bed as he was quiet and calm pretty much the whole time. I told them how the other ER vet scruffed him too hard and now he flinches a little when I give his shot. They did not scruff him once, and they were so nice and gentle with him.

I couldn't be more happy.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who has been sitting this out with me.....He is walking around like crazy right now, I think in part because of the medication they gave him and also because he has to feel so much better. One of the first things he did when we got home was go downstairs and leave a semi liquid/semi solid poop for me....I am hoping that this was a one time thing and we do not have to go through this again. She said to follow up with his regular vet in a few days and to keep up with the miralax and probiotic combo.....

YEAH for POOP!!!

Since you skipped tonight, you might want to consider going ahead and changing his shot schedule in the morning so you're ready for DST too...Instead of doing the 15 minutes per cycle thing, you could just shoot at 5am/5pm tomorrow and Saturday and then Sunday, when we "Spring Forward", it's 6am!

Finally! I have never had so much exercise doing the poop dance! Sooooooooo glad you pooped!
Now you will feel much better, and so will your Momma!
Meows & purrs,
