Good Morning, Everyone,
Rusty had a good night sleeping between his beans. He only ate about half of his nighttime food because he was too busy sleeping. But this morning he has eaten all of his breakfast. And we had our combing. He's a happy cat.
We all went btb this morning: it was cold and yesterday's snowshoe hike (our first of the year owing to my injury) tired us out, even though it was only 4 miles!! My hamstring is not too bad this morning (I expected much worse). In fact, it almost feels good (tart-cherry juice working?). But I'm not going to press it and go out on the trails again today. Grocery shopping instead.
We found the tuberculous documentary on PBS very interesting. It had some great shots of the Adirondacks, too. One of the writers who provided commentary was Andrea Barrett, who writes beautifully. Her novella "The Cure" (in a collection of short stories titled "Servants of the Map") and her novel "The Air We Breathe" are especially evocative of Saranac Lake in the early 20th century.
Here's a pic I took on our hike at the VIC yesterday, a view of the Herron Marsh:
