Hi LL! Happy Friday!

We have working internets again! :joyful::joyful::joyful: Long story short, DH decided to do the long-overdue upgrade to our cable/internet equipment on Tuesday, and after exchanging equipment at the brick-and-mortar store FOUR times, he gave up. Tech came out today and fixed things. When they tried to switch our new equipment over to the actual signal, they messed up and cut us off...

Anyway, Eddie continues to do great. After studying and getting input here, we decided that Eddie looked a bit high to take a reduction based on normal numbers. But, after fretting about that, Eddie went ahead and gave me his third number below 50 last night anyway to earn his reduction after all. :D:D:D

Yesterday's two cycles were interesting. AM cycle was super FLAT and blue, and then he did a little cliff dive right after PMPS hitting 49 at +3. If those were different colors, that pattern looks exactly like what he was doing bouncing and then diving off much higher numbers - a flat bounce cycle and then a bounce-clearing dive. So, that pattern plus the third dip below 50, I'm going to take Eddie's his cue that he's ready to try a shave again. An argument can definitely be made that we could continue to hold the current dose, and I think we could, but I do want to see what he can do with the 0.25u.

DH forgot to take the reduction this morning (aka I forgot to explicitly tell him to reduce), so we started the reduction tonight. Fingers, and toes, and eyes, and everything else crossed that this will be a successful experiment!!!

Eddie and civilian Reekoe have their annual vetty visits tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see what our vet has to say about Eddie's numbers. It's my intention to try Mark's pharmacy for Eddie's next order of insulin. Of course, we are currently on our last pen...so maybe buying a new box of 5 pens will be just the incentive Eddie needs to decide that he doesn't want it anymore.;)

I'm scheduled for surgery on Tuesday so I'm completely panicked about trying to get a billion things done at work so the world doesn't implode while I'm out for a week and a half or two weeks, but I'm looking forward to feeling better and getting a little recovery/rest/relaxation.

Have a good evening and weekend everyone!

Good luck with the reducie. I just got a shipment from Mark's yesterday. It took 7 days. The ice pack was no longer cold but hopefully all will be well and it will stay good.

Good luck with your surgery prep and I hope it goes smoothly.

Good luck with the reduction - hahaha on buying new pens being the incentive Eddie needs to kick the juice - that would be so like a cat!

Eddie continues to look fantastic.:D:D The vet will be impressed.

Good luck with the reduction - I'm pretty sure he'll do well with in.

Vines in advance for you own surgery. You'll probably put in 2 weeks worth of work getting ready to take a week and a half off.

Yup, I think the vet will be very impressed. We sure are! (and LL isn't just fluffing you!)

Hope all else goes well with the kitties' annual check-ups.

And a bushel of vines for you, too, on your upcoming surgery and recuperation. Such a pain double-timing before hand so you can be gone without messing up tbp.

You go Fast Eddie. Show 'em how it's done.

Trying to convince myself that this reduction is just like any of the other 387 reductions we've gone through over the last 14 months, and to just sit back and watch what happens.

Hi Elise! Thanks for stopping by. I'm pretty sure we ended up with about the most expensive possible price for our pens last time, so I'm very, very excited about the price with Marks. I think I read somewhere that they arrange shipping to avoid freezing temperatures, and as luck would have it, temperatures are dropping here this week. Hopefully it won't be a problem.

Hi Serryn!

hahaha on buying new pens being the incentive Eddie needs to kick the juice - that would be so like a cat!

I wonder if it would be even more of an incentive for Eddie if I paid the local $500 price tag for a box of pens versus the ~ $130 from Marks - eh. Not going to test that theory LOL.

Wendy - thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your kind thoughts coming up on surgery. I wasn't really nervous about it, until today when I realized I have way more loose ends to tie up before leaving than I have time for. Even though I'm only going to be physically out of the office for about two weeks, I'm sure some of my needy (aka massive pain in the *bleep*) clients are going to freak out not having direct access to me for a couple weeks. Ugh.

Hi Marilyn! Thanks for your visit! We haven't heard directly from Eddie's vet regarding his treatment since we switched from ProZinc to Lantus back in April. Been dealing with our wonderful, amazing vet tech. In fact, when we brought him in this summer suspicious that our Lantus vial had gone kaput or that he had some sort of UTI, our favorite tech skipped her lunch break to attend Eddie's appointment and help convince the vet to prescribe pens rather than a vial, which was a first at this practice. It will be interesting to get our vet's input.

Hi Jen and Eddie! WOW, Eddie looks fantastic!!!! I can't get over i t:) Good luck with the reduction! And good luck with your surgery. I hope you can enjoy your time off relaxing and recovering at least.
