Good Morning LL:coffee::coffee::coffee:
Considering the active cycle Michael had last night, he is starting out great. Lookin' good in his "Dress Blues".(amps 137) I thought the #'s would be high since I left HC food out for him to eat during the night. It was all gone this am.
Thanks to everyone who helped me thru this last night. Without your support and guidance, I would have been a basket case. You are truly a wonderful & dedicated group.
Enjoy your day.
Paula:)

Just read through your last nights condo, what a night, and great job!
For future reference when the PS is lower then the previous midcycle number, Dont feed when you are stalling at PS, cause that will give a food influenced test number. You want to see a natural rise in sugar before you give shot
Great news about his T4.

Michael found the "Bouncy Ball":arghh: (amps137 +4 382) O.k. Mr Liver it's about time you got use to some lower #'s. Michael has been bouncing long enough!

Nice job managing those greens, Paul! Ok, Michael, tell that liver there is no need to overreact....MamaBean has things under control!!!

I hope he comes down nice and easy, and decides he doesn't want to bounce anymore. Have a great day, Paula!

What a night, Paula. I lurked but didn't want to interrupt the thread. Sent tons of "stay cool" vines to the mamabean. You were terrific.

Michael, take it easy on the bounce, kid. Oh, and take it easy on daBean!

Wow Paula, you did have quite the night! :woot: Good job staying on it, okay now Michael, c'mon down! I hope you are feeling better, although last night probably didn't help! Hope you get more rest tonight! :bighug:

It looks like I will get more rest tonight. (pmps 415):arghh: I guess he had too much high carbs last night.

Did Michael fail the reduction? If so, do I go back to 1.5u tomorrow am?

No!

He earned the reduction by going so low last night

Because of that really low number, his liver released stored sugars and hormones to help bring him back up (he "bounced")

It can take up to 72 hours for those hormones and sugars to clear, so you just want to hold the dose

Another question. Am I supposed to be discouraged. I worked so hard last night to keep M safe and in low #'s, and today he bounced really high. It's so frustrating.:(

Yup, hold the dose. It's a grand bounce!! I went back and read your last night's condo. Wow! Just think what good sleep you'll have tonight!

p.s. don't be discouraged. Michael's liver is just doing it's job. FD is unpredictable. All we can do sometimes is accept that fact!

Discouraged, Paula. Oh I guess it's a natural response. (sort of like Michael's liver!) But FD doesn't work in a nice, easy to calculate linear fashion. Michael's doing what his body is programmed to do right now. Low, low, low. And now his liver is going into protect mode. Hence, the high, high, high.

Just ride it out. And know that at this stage, Michael's body is doing what nature has programmed it to do. And you know the old saying, "You can't mess with Mother Nature." Well, not much, anyway!

Get some rest. After last night, you deserve it. You need it.

Time, Paula. Just give it time.

You did good.

Thanks, Marilyn.
How much time? It has been almost a yr. since M was DX. It's nice to know that his liver is doing what its supposed to do, but at the same time, are his other organs at risk? Does Mr. L ever get use to lower #'s? This is what is so frustrating.:( I feel like I am going around in circles and that M's body is doing the same thing.

It's beyond frustrating, but it's normal. I really wonder if cats whose names are Michael or a variety thereof, bounce more. My Mikey is the Bounce King. We actually call him Rubber Ball. I posed him with this pic one night to try to show him the difference between balls and cats. It didn't work. Let's try it on Michael:

See the balls? Balls are round and bounce. See the cat? Cats are soft. They do not bounce. Ball, Cat. You are the cat. Got it?

Let me know if it works.

Mikey is very Handsome.
I hope this works for Michael. He loves to play ball when he is in the mood. Hence loves to play "bouncy ball".:) Think I might have to hide it.

(((Paula))))

Bounces are discouraging. We all have to deal with them and they can really be disturbing. You are doing great with Michael and especially when you've been feeling so bad.

Try to focus on his good numbers and don't let the bounces get you down. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

You did a great job last night, Paula! I was lurking as well. Not much more to add other than it's time to pull on the patience pants and wait for Michael to work through the bounce. Don't fret about the bounce. His liver did what it's supposed to do - with those low numbers, that's the right response. For us beans that belong to the bouncy kitties, it's SO HARD to watch them bounce all the time. BUT, as the saying goes, they keep bouncing until they don't. I was pretty certain that this was just a saying, until my bouncy ball Eddie suddenly flattened out. You're making headway here, and you're doing a great job for Michael. Hang in there! :bighug:

Hi Paula,
I hope you're feeling a bit better today. Being I'll and the stress of going through a low cycle on top if it - whew! You did a fabulous job.
Clare has been a very bouncy kitty and is finally evening out more, after 7 months.. I know how frustrating and discouraging it can be but Michael is so lucky to have you as his MamaBean. Please take care of yourself!
Hugs,
Georgette and Clare
