Yesterday

Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty had a good night and so far this morning all is well. He snoozed for a bit in his little bed by the radiator and then wanted to be combed and to eat some of his breakfast on top of the radiator. So, of course, his mamabean complied. Now he is on his perch over the radiator, surveying the east lawn. The mama deer and her two youngsters were here earlier, eating sunflower seeds that I had put out on the ground for the ground-feeding birds (we still have our cardinal pair). It's much warmer today (upper 20s already), but snow and a drop in temperature are predicted for tonight and tomorrow.

I have to bring a dessert to our mountain club's monthly potluck this evening. I'm making the easiest thing I can think of: brownies from a mix!!! Edward thinks I should make Jello, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

OK, Ella, you have me snorting and scaring my cats. I live in Utah. Jello is (honest!) the official state snack. Green jello. With fruit mixed in...canned fruit, I'm sure...or shredded carrots. Or both!!!!

Rusty's having a great day. Nice lagoon action there. Glad you're there, Rusty. Keep an eye on Polly if she visits. Green lagoon, wonderful. Green jello, not so much.

I think brownies are a great idea. Everyone loves them. Jello, not so much (unless it contains alcohol - I know lots of people that love jello shots). Ask Edward how much of the jello he'd eat?

Edward says that Green Jello with shredded carrots and pineapple is the perfect retro dessert. But here it's considered a salad.

Enjoy your potluck. You guys always have such fun. Hmmmmm.... Green and blue jello, in honor of the Seahawks win? HAHA, just kidding I like the brownies idea though. You can't beat brownies. Put a little frosting on top, and MAJOR YUM!

OMG I thought the comment about putting shredded carrot in what us Aussies call jelly (and what you call jelly we call jam) was a joke but it seems that's actually a thing!!!!! You guys eat some strange stuff!!!

@Vyktors Mum LOL! What you call jam, we call jelly ("jelly" is clear--color of the fruit; "jam" is thick, with fruit in it; "preserves" are thick with bigger pieces of fruit).
p.s. No one made a Jello salad for the potluck this month!

Sorry, just getting caught up and couldn't resist. I've always wondered who came up w/ the idea of adding stuff to green jello though? And why??? Maybe to make it edible?
