It's so hard to watch my girl feel so bad. We have really high points like yesterday where she seems to be feeling really good and then not so high points like today where she just doesn't seem like she feels good. I just wish I could take it all from her. I try to let her rest as much as possible and make sure I'm showing her all the love I can at the same time.. All while giving her the medicines and treatments she needs.. I just do all this and keep praying she will turn around.. That she will want to eat... And that the pain will go away..and she will be her old self soon.

I'm keeping Booger in my prayers that she eats better and feels better and makes a turn around to her old self soon. Hugs to you. I know how hard it is.

It can take a long time for them to get back to normal after pancreatitis but it will happen. It requires as much patience as FD. FOR Max the main thing was to figure out how to control the nausea. It turned out he needed more ondansetron than he was getting. Cerenia works best for some cats and ondan for others. Some need both. There is a yahoo group for pancreatitis. Even if you never post there is so much info there. Did you get a chance to read the Idexx Round Table Discussion yet? It's really good. :bighug: For you and vines for Booger.

We're sending prayers, too. It took Trix several months to get over her first bout of p-titis, and now we've got it going on again, although this time around, she has bounced back much more quickly. One thing we're doing differently this time is using an antibiotic called Zenniquin (I probably spelled that incorrectly). Maybe it's a coincidence, but she seemed to start feeling much better withing 12 hours of her first dose. Last time, we didn't use an AB at all. If I remember correctly, Booger is on Clavamox, right? I know many kitties have a hard time with that one. One of my civvies practically turned green after one dose, and my vet only uses it as a last resort anymore, because so many cats do have a hard time with it. So that may be contributing to Booger feeling yucky.

Thank you. I have to keep reminding myself of that. I knew it was going to be a long road when she came home.. I just feel so bad for her and can't help but want her better now. I will look at the yahoo site.. I'm reading everything I can. I just finished the Idexx article, and it helped me feel a little better. Thank you. I think the thing bothering me most is her not eating.. Even though I know that it comes with it.. I just wish she'd take one bite..

Yes, so many prayers from FD members :bighug:.. Can't thank you all enough.. She is on Clavamox and Metronidazole.. Which she absolutely cannot tolerate (the metro).. The second it touches her lips she projectile vomits and her whole belly convulses... Which I know makes her feel terrible.. I've since been putting it into capsules and giving it to her but I know it's still doing a number on her inside.. :(

Also keeping Booger in our thoughts and prayers.

We tried metronidazole with Gracie once and she had the same reaction as Booger; our vet stopped it. I would talk to the vet tomorrow and see what he/she says.

I really ohpe she will start feeling much better soon.
