one thing that might help is to mark on his spreadsheet when you feed him. You can just put a * in the cell when he has a snack. That might help you see how long it takes him to go down after a snack, and when he starts to go back up again. I remember that Lucy's pattern at first was that she would often stay high for 3 hours after a snack, but the +4 would suddenly be lower. Maybe 5 hours is too long for him right now
It shouldn't have to be done that way forever, but you're trying to help prod the pancreas into doing its job, while also trying not to overwhelm it. He wasn't in normal numbers for a super long time before going OTJ, so it's possible that his pancreas still has some healing to do and is just getting tired. The more you can do to baby it along right now, the better.
