The bounces are getting shorter and not going as high. Woohoo!

ETA: That is a pretty steep drop from AMPS to +6. I know 56 is just about an ideal #, but is that sharp of a drop anything to worry about?

Yes, +8 was 88. She had her normal meal at +6.

Yikes... another express elevator ride down to the main floor!
To soften the drop, a onset snakus is a good thing to add to a routine. It's easier on the cat and it's easier on the liver who doesn't have a panic attack with a steeper drop than it's used to.

She already eats 4 times a day: AMPS, AM+6, PMPS, and PM +6. I don't think I can feed her anymore! Should I switch the times of one of those feedings?

Mini meals work great with lantus. Self snakusing is also very good if you cat cooperates. Both of these things 'feed the curve'. A lot of us either leave food out or have a timed feeder. I still feed Tizon 6 times per day - mostly small portions.... just because now he's used to it and it's not really more work for me to put the food in the bowl or in the timed feeder.

If you look at Superstarpoker Ronnie and Luna or even Jill and Alex's SSs (and others but I can't name them all cos I can't remember), you'll see that they have been feeding mini meals. Not only it feeds the curve, but it also doesn't overwhelm (sp??) the pancreas. I recommend it, but again, it doesn't work for everyone.

I thought I was already giving her mini-meals by feeding 4 times a day. She gets about 1.5-2 oz. at each feeding.

I have thought about, and rejected, free feeding many times. The timed feeder would be an okay option, except I would need 3 of them and I just can't afford that. I can't leave food out in bowls because I can almost guarantee that Buzz would eat everyone else's, or the dog would eat it. Meal time is a three-ring circus around here, trying to keep everyone at their own dish and shoo the dog away. It's under control, though, and I just can't bear to face changing it when I don't even think it would work. I would love the peace of mind of knowing that they had food available at all times, especially in the middle of the night, but I just don't think it's feasible for me personally.

I feed Gabby about 1/8th of a can of FF when I test -- usually +2, +4, and +6. (And sometimes once more later in the cycle if she's looking rather plaintive!) Maybe feeding a little less but more frequently would be the ticket! I think Helene's point is that you will soften drops by breaking up the +6 meal maybe into a +3 and +6.
