1/27 Shadoe amps 367 +9.5 344 pmps 326

Yesterday’s Condo

This morning was pretty much uneventful. Both Shadoe and Booboo woke me up, yelling FOOD! FOOD NOW!

I did get up to take a +8.5, but nothing surprising was found: +8.5 349
When I say Shadoe loves her pinks I am NOT kidding.

Now, amps and shot are done, auto feeder is filled with bowls of frozen foods, and Shadoe's morning meal was given.

Shadoe is over by the SQuids, but only because the bag of Pure Snacks are right beside the fluids.
Oh wait, now she is back to her breakfast bowl - ff cod/whitefish/tuna feast. She nibbles all day long so by the end of the day, she has gone through quite a bit of food. One can for breakfast, then 2 cans divided between 4 autofeeder compartments, so that's 3 cans by supper time.Thank goodness she eats only one can during the evening.

That's it for this morning; Shadoe's sitting on a rug in front of her catnip plant and Booboo is sitting under a lamp for warmth I think.

I may be home in time for +11 tonite.

lol, I got the wake up nudges too, funny how we know what they want.
Pink is pretty Shadoe - but don't ya think it's time to change your dress?
Put on a sunny yellow dress for Indy's party (and bring a blue one just in case :mrgreen: )

Wow, Shadoe is such a good eater! I'm lucky if I can get 1 can of any size into Morris these days. Her numbers can come on down now anytime...pink is for sissies, and we know who rules, don't we??? cat_pet_icon

Shadoe really likes to stay in the pinks lately....but who knows what goes on with her
when we aren't watching. you have quite a routine going there for yourself in the mornings, Gayle.... :lol:

I was moving slowly this morn, so I was home in time to catch a +1.5 ... 15.8 / 284 so she may be doing nice numbers when I am not around to see them cat(2)_steam

I have always referred to Shadoe as a chunky monkey shaped like a football on little legs, but she is actually closer to a bowling ball on legs. She is one SOLID girlie.

I give her that much food, make it available, during the day because I am not there and don't want to starve her. If she is not regulated, I had understood that she was not getting all the nutrients she needed from the food so she may eat more than normal. There are some days when I come home to 1 or 2 of the feeder compartments having some leftovers, so it depends on her day. There are some days when it looks like she chewed on the glass bowls to get every last crumb, and so I continue to leave that amount each day, just in case. It has also been an awesome gauge for how Shadoe was feeling during the day. When she first was getting sick, she was hardly eating a thing, and that's why I started watching her more closely and also got her to the vets quicker than if I had not been using the feeder and saw what and when she was eating.
To me, so I waste a can a day. What's that? maybe 50 cents. Lately there has been little waste haha_smiley haha_smiley

So the little sneak is starting her day with me away a bit lower and maybe reaching for the sunshine.

I think Shadoe is startng to play mind games with you.
Giving you a lovely yellow before you have to leave for the day.
Then...home you come and poof, Pinks.
Honestly Shadoe, let go of the pinks. It is so last year's colour, lol!!

Up and down, up and down. I have no clue what she's doing.
The auto feeder indicated that the food in sections 2 and 4 are crap and she did not touch them.

She's sleeping nicely in my chair with Booboo. Fluids are on the menu in an hour or so.

I just don't feel very hopeful with this dose. Any non pink numbers are just slips by Shadoe which are quickly corrected within hours.

I don't know about you, but that's a good pink! Pretty darn close, and that's without fluids yet!

What an evening you two had last night! Was Shadoe dancing_cat ? And momma bean party_cat drinking09 ?!?!?!?

Well, you know the good ol bouncin' routine. Hopefully Shadoe will CLEAR it and show us all how its done, yet again tonight.

Have I told you what an amazing job you do with shadoe? You are so proactive and caring...yet so laid back. You dont get all worked up over things. I bet that helps Shadoe a lot!

I'll second that. Low Pinks and if want to use a margin of error on the meter, lets call them high yellows.
Its progress and maybe tomorrow we WILL see high yellows. Paws crossed this dose kicks in.

Thanks Ronnie, but close counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, so the saying goes.

I really wonder if Shadoe had been diabetic for such a long time that she was just completely used to high numbers, and is now having trouble feeling good about the proper numbers. Just because she was dx in October, she is not a complainer so she could likely have been having issues for much longer.
That long time condition must have some part in her fighting the numbers.

Stressing and being tense never solves much but rather makes matters worse. While Shadoe is pretty laid back and just wants me to keep the food comin', she has decided that there are some things she does NOT like much and SQuids is one of them. The getting them part. After, she seems better and happy, but she sure does not like the needle, so I give her pure snacks before and after, and pat her all through the fluid drip. Praise goes a long way too. She grudgingly settles in for the duration and purrs a bit but it's a resigned kind of purring. And the quick breathing makes me feel badly, even though I know the fluids are what she needs to have.

Once the needle comes out, she scoots over to the rug, waiting for some snacks for being a good girl and sitting still. After the treats, she jumps back into my chair and lies down with a waiting Booboo, who promptly cleans Shadoe because I have made such a mess of her fur. I swear Booboo gives me the evil eye too.

We will see how the numbers go now, after SQuids at 9pm. So far, so good. She's inching down in her typical tentative style. It's alot better than a fall off the edge of a cliff drop.
