Not much testing last night. I slept

I fed both cats their breffis and while Ginger was devouring hers as fast as she could J.D. was stalling and asking for something to be sprinkled on top. So, by the time I added FortiFlora to J.D.'s food, Ginger had a bite left. She finished hers, and went to J.D.'s bowl, grabbed a big hunk (most of his meal) out of his bowl and ran a few feet away, while I "quietly" yelled at her. J.D. sat down to eat what was left, and Ginger again pushed him out to lick his bowl.

I have wondered which cat I need to take to the vet. With the recent fighting going on between the two, and Ginger used to eat so slowly (well, when she did eat fast, she used to scarf and barf). I think I'll weigh both cats before I go.

J.D. hasn't done the hiccupping thing since I saw it early Thursday morning, but I think I'm going to keep his appointment, just to have him checked out.

I'm going to try to go btb for a little while.

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185

I use to debate about keeping vet appointments when the sx I once saw has disappeared.....But have learned over time that its better just to keep the appintments. Kitty gets checked out and I feel better.

Hope all goes well for JD.

Have a great Saturday.

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185

Hi Dyana,

Glad your keeping the appointment for J.D. It will give you piece of mind. Sounds like Ginger is the alpha cat in that relationship.

One of the civies will always stick his head into Sara's bowl while she's eating and it's the same thing. She just sits back and watches and eventually will go to his bowl. Which than he decides he wants his bowl back. At least she gets some exercise in. ;-)

Hope eating time goes less stressful at your house. Sometimes they will change their attitude towards each other.

Have a nice caturday.

Let us know what the vets say :-D Nice amps for J.D. sounds like quite a breffis ordeal going on at your house with the food competition and Ginger winning

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185

Morning Dyana - hope you can go btb, sounds like a bit of circus for you this morning. I'm not usually up this time of morning but I got this, this morning

so I'm thinking about having my coffee and going on to the grocery store before it gets too crazy.

enjoy your btb

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185, +2 222

No btbing for me.
The fighting: or is it playing? They were both in the basement down at the litter boxes and Ginger came running up the steps. I heard J.D. scratching in the litter so he must have gone something, then I heard him making those funny noises (not bad noises) and he came running up the stairs (J.D. usually goes slowly up the stairs). He acted all proud of himself.
Silly cat.

Ginger is 10lb 5oz - up from 10lbs. I thought she was getting heavier.
J.D. is 14lb 10oz - last weights were 14lb 11oz on 10/31, and 14lb 13.5oz on 10/04, so he is losing slowly.

I never got any btb and coffee is just ready now. I'm going to enjoy a cup and then get ready for the vet appointment.
J.D. is going to hate me when I put him in the carrier again tomorrow, to take him to work..

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185, +2 222

worth staying up to see him trundling around, isnt it? though with your schedule, i hope you get some rest, dyana!

good luck at the vet...

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185, +2 222, back from vet

He was throughly examined and even had his fatty lump aspirated? (where they take a sample and look under a microscope). All is well.

J.D. is currently waiting for his freeze dried Grandma Lucy's Mahi Mahi treats to re-hydrate.

Then we'll go outside for a walk in the sunny but cold day.

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185, +2 222, back from vet

My vet thinks J.D. is the best cat, and loves J.D.
Actually for some reason, all vets love him. I remember when he was discharged from the hospital back in 2005, and his vet said "I love you" to him. I thought it very strange. It sounded like she was saying that to a lover, or something.
Little do they know that J.D. doesn't trust 99.9% of humans, and he's probably just petrified into submission when he's at the vet.
Good news is I only got charged for an office visit $45.00!

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185, +2 222, back from vet

Glad the vet visit went good, Dyana. Well, I think JD would be losing weight if 1) Ginger steals his food from him & 2) he's running around the place, especially doing that cardio on the steps!!!!

Sorry you didn't get a chance to go btb...maybe a nap sometime today???

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185, +2 222, back from vet

whatever J.D.'s magic is at least you reaped the financial benefits of it
Good to hear J.D. is doing well, enjoy your Saturday

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185, +2 222, back from vet

that sounds like a great vet visit...where was the lump? that's amazing that you were only charged for the visit! :thumbup

Re: 11/20 J.D. AMPS 185, +2 222, back from vet

$45.00? I love your vet!

My cats are being really feisty now, I guess because of the cooler weather. Maybe the fighting really is just play. Sometimes Sammy and Mickey sounds like they're beating each other up, but then once Mickey "escapes" he turns right around and dives in for more.

My poor kitty. Well, at least he had some good treats and we had a nice long walk earlier.
My neighbor wants me to take him clothes and food shopping, so out for one more quick walk with my kitties, and then off to yucky shopping.

I think I'm like one of their best customers. I've been there two other times just this past month. Once to pick up some FortiFlora and once to pick up a feeding syringe (for emergencies, I ruined my last one in the dishwasher).
And the plate of cookies left at Christmas time, might help

I watched them fighting today, and J.D. was standing over Ginger. Ginger was all hunched down, with her ears back, and hissing, and acting defensive, and J.D. was over her, with his ears forward, and kept swatting her, acting offensive. Very interesting. Normally, he's so submissive to her. I told my vet, and he said maybe it was a good thing, and that he felt better.

He's had a fatty lump about the size of a dime (according to my vet, of course it feels more like a nichol to me) on the side of his rib cage behind his elbow. He's had it for about 4 years, I think. The vet took a sample of it when I first noticed it all those years ago and said it was nothing to worry about. Just fat. And for some reason, I saw him grab it and get out a long needle today. So I asked him if he was concerned, and he said "no", and then I asked him if it had grown and he said "no", he just wanted to re-check it. I think he may have done it because he had a little apprentice girl or pre-vet student or something in the room taking notes.

My upstairs neighbor lost his liscense, so he bugs me to take him shopping sometimes. It's always in the middle of the afternoon, on a nice day, on my day off, when I would much rather be spending the day outside frollicking with my kitties. But, I'm nice. Besides, he's helped me out in the past, and he checked the oil in my car, today.

He also gets a little excersize when I throw the treats on the floor and he very cutely goes trotting around the living room after them.

After shopping, I tested J.D. and he was 415, so he was still rising, so I gave him some R to put a lid on it. And then, I layed on the couch with a blankie over me and kind of got a little nap, until J.D. decided to lay on top of my head and purr. :-D

After tonight's PMPS and dinner, I think I'll try to go to bed early. Such a life I have, huh?

Glad all went well at the vet. Sorry you did not get btb. Hopefully you will get to bed early tonight and J.D. won't lay on your head. LOL
