8/31 Alex AMPS 402,PMPS 202

So far I'm not impressed with this switch back to Lantus. I bumped Alex up last night and I'm going to wait for this to settle but if I don't see any improvement by a couple of more cycles...going back to Levemir. I mean he's barely budging on this stuff and when he does, it's probably not because of the Lantus. I understand that it takes time to build the shed and all of that, but if that's the case...why did his transition from Lantus to Levemir back on May 15th go so completely differently? I had to rebuild there as well but it took about 3 cycles for him to start responding. This is maddening. Alex's numbers haven't been so awful since he was dx'd. :YMSIGH:

In spite of the numbers...thankfully Al is doing okay. His appetite is great and I'm keeping him hydrated so ...well knock wood I haven't had any problems yet. He's whiny but affectionate and my main concern is just to keep him healthy...whatever that means right now :lol:

A & J had a very nice breffis this morning and are now taking a nap..which I'm about to do as well because Jeeeze, wouldn't ya' know it....last week before Labor Day and I have a horrible sore throat and feel generally yuckky which probably means I'm getting a cold. :-|

Oh yeah and all Alex's p's are in order...

I am glad he is feeling and acting ok Caryl. You certainly are having a problem now with the Lantus. You know Alex best and are really studying the difference between the two insulins in his case....We have been on Lev since we dumped the Vetsulin... so I don't know what to say....maybe more experienced people will be able to comment....
I am so sorry that this past switch didn't bring the results you were hoping for... :YMHUG:

Yeah That's the ticket!!!! I'll mix them and create a new insulin for Alex called "Lantemir"..... Or do we like "Levtus" better? NO WAY!!!! BLECCCCH .

Lantemir it is. It releases itself all different ways, some of it binds to the albumin for a slower release and the rest is just a doggone free-for-all. It stings sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't...hit or miss :twisted: The duration is anybody's guess..so check back often to see Alex's ss.

Hey Caryl! Sorry the switch back has been so rough, but it looks like maybe something kicked in finally? 129 is a nice pretty number for him--will it cause a bounce?

Sorry you're not feeling well--I'm right there with ya. I managed to get brushed somehow with some poison ivy on Saturday (seriously, I was at the beach, and I didn't touch any plants!) and yesterday came down with a crappy cold. I'm feeling pretty miserable myself. Hugs to you, and I hope you feel better soon!
