8/27 Meadow AMPS 134 PMPS 385 ???

Meadow wasn't eating the new food & freeze-dried chicken, so I called around this morning and found a vet who sells the FortiFlora. They only had an opened box, so they sold 4 packages to try. Well...she wouldn't eat it or the food it is on. I gave her a treat and she ate it, then hyperextended her neck a couple of times like she was having trouble swallowing. Then I heard a weird popping noise when she would try to swallow. I tried to look in her mouth, but couldn't see down her throat. I called the vet & we have an appointment tomorrow morning. I hope it is something like stupid like she swallowed a string or has a hairball, and not a tumor. I can't believe I have gotten her BG down and now this! I cried all day at work. When I got home, she met me at the door, then ran to her food bowl and meowed like "feed me". There were 3 plates and a bowl full of food sitting there. She's hungry (I hear her stomach growling), but she physically cannot eat.

I am so sorry to read this tonight Amber....have you offered her tuna oil or something like that?
Wondering if she had something to lubricate her throat....could there be something dry stuck in there>
I know you wouldn't know that...but I am grasping at straws here. I she drinking water?
(my two don't drink water at all so it's only what they get from my adding it to their canned foods)
Just wondering...how is she now?

I am glad you are bringing her in tomorrow....
Just wish there was something you could do now...she hasn't eaten all day either huh?

Just read your post from last night...the dry chunks of freeze-dried chicken...
they are VERY dry and I am wondering if there could be one stuck in her throat....
I usually shave it on top of the food because it is so dry....what do you think?
Is there an Emergency vet nearby??

Amber, I'm so sorry. I'm so glad you got an appointment for tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you and Meadow and sending positive thoughts your way. Is your appointment in the a.m.?

Maybe if you added a little comment to the end of your subject line you could catch more eyes. I hope others have more advice/experience to share.

In case you don't have a syringe...I asked the Target pharmacist about buying a syringe and he just gave me three different sizes for free. Pretty nice. I think other pharmacists might do the same. They're a dime-a-dozen to them.
