Good Morning.

I didn't get up in the middle of the night at all, to test. Bad mommy. He was 290 at +3, and I just didn't want to see anything higher. He did try to wake me sometime in the night, but I just went back to sleep. So, I'm happy to see this blue.

Today is vet day. In about 2 hours, both of my cats will get physicals, and J.D. will get his bi-anual Total Health Plus which is blood tests. I can't wait until that's over.. Although, my vet is very nice. Ginger will be drooling all over the place cause that's what she does at the vet :roll: At least the appointment is early in the morning so it will still be cool outside, and it's a 3 minute car ride each way.
Wait, my cats are outside right now, I hope they don't know this is going on, or I'll never find them.

Yes vet visits are very stressful, especially for dogs. Hope all goes well for both furries.

Almost looks like a duplicate of yesterday. Hoping for some more blue this afternoon. It seems his nadirs are getting later.

Carriers are out and cats are in the house pacing..wait where'd they go? I have to go find kitties :lol:

:o It's worse for me when they SEE the carriers out. I have such a problem in the mornings when I need to get them both into a carrier! The one I pick first always lets out strange meows or groans and I think it translates into "HELP...she's putting me in the carrier...RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!" cause the second kitty is always hiding after I successfully get the first into the carrier.
Raja spread her legs and screams "NOOOOOOOooooooooo" very distinctly when I try to get her into her carrier......
oh I HATE having to do that...thinking of you right now...
I am wishing you good luck with the two of them going to the vet. I know what you are going through every step of the way, believe me! Sending calming vines to you all..
(getting Raja back INTO the cage at the vet's is never a problem though! :lol: After her examination, she LOVES that cage and knows that it will carry her home...) :lol:
I love that Levemir Blue 153 this morning! :mrgreen: J.D. is looking good!!

Yeah I know all about the challenges of getting my cats into carriers. First of all, my boys are BIG, so they need large carriers. One of them (the fatty), I need to place the carrier on its back, opening at the top, and lower him into it. That's the only way to get him in.

Funny how they will voluntarily go into the carrier at the vet's office when it's time to come home...

J.D. is and has been cleaning himself for a while now, because he peed all over himself at the vet. I had 2 towels in his carrier and it wasn't enough. I stole Ginger's towel from her carrier (Ginger didn't drool today - very strange) and tried to clean him up and apologized to the vet for the wet floor. The vet went and got a beach towel and proceeded to dry J.D. and give him a good rub down of his soaking wet tail and back legs. All is good. He got his blood work drawn (I will get the results tomorrow), Ginger got a distemper shot, both got physicals, a little teeth scraping, and their microchips checked.
J.D.'s heart rate was 180 (was 160 last vet visit) but the vet said that was okay. He said his eyes were foggy, but I thought they've been foggy for a long time? I just looked at the bill, and he didn't charge me for the distemper shot..shhhh!

Ginger is now outside hunting - I thought the vet said the distemper shot would make her sleepy.
I am inside cleaning carriers.

aw poor J.D...hope he doesn't feel too bad for the little accident at the vets.

Wow, you've been busy this morning. I know only too well, that task of cleaning the cat carriers after vet visits. Kitties never seem to pee when you want them to and then pee all over the carrier so there is nothing left for the vet to test (if needed.)

I hope the blood work comes back tomorrow showing super healthy results.

Dr. Lisa has made several comments about doing teeth scraping especially on a conscious cat. She's pretty well dead set against it. If you search for dental info on Health, I'm pretty sure you'll find her comments.

He just used his thumb nail and picked one large piece off of Ginger's tooth and scraped/picked with his thumb nail a little on the one side that J.D. still has teeth. I'll go do a search now. My vet seems to think that this is how he'll manage J.D.'s teeth issues..his really didn't have much tartar on them.

That's pretty good for after the vet visit and just eating 45 minutes ago.

Sorry if the "scraping" word was a miscommunication. The vet does this the same as he listens to the heart and lungs and checks the ears and eyes.

J.D. is sleeping on the deck and enjoying my day off :-D

He just jumped up onto the "spare" coffee table where I feed Ginger, to eat her leftovers (which looked like quite a lot when I peeked). I guess he is "feeding his curve", which I want to know he does, so when I go to work, I'll remember and be less nervous...just talking to myself :lol:

Doing Great on Lev!! My old vet picked Copper's teeth once, & he was ok for a long time--Now he needs a dental real badly, which we will do this summer--Think the picking is like our hygenists picking our teeth without water, or anything(not too comfy!)--
But ok it's done--crossing paws & fingers for all good results!

I think??? the tooth picking is no big deal. I've had many vets in my life pick the tartar off my cat's teeth. A couple have even tried to get me to do it myself (on my cats), but I've never even been able to look inside to examine the teeth. When J.D.'s panting while I'm driving and he's going with me to work, I take advantage of the opportunity to get a quick glance inside his mouth. That's about it. I sometimes remember to rub his teeth and gums with Dental Clens Pads . They make his mouth all pepperminty :smile: . I showed them to my vet and he said they were good because they have Chlorhexidine which helps with bacteria.

It's too hot. I just brought my cats inside and turned on the air conditioner. J.D. just ate again! It's his 5th meal today.
Along with lots of treats, of course :-D

Looking good (anti-jinx, anti-jinx). All crossed for J.D. As for teeth, I often flick the accumulation of tartar off the cats teeth. I also do it with the horses. It has worked for me. Continued success, Tuffy is cheering for J.D. (anti-jinx).

Fwiw, my vet scrapes the tartar off as well - (not as a dental, but as part of the "how dirty are these teeth" assessment) she always says "watch this... pop!"
I think she gets a bit of joy out of it. :lol:

Nice day for the JD boy! Sorry he had a bit of an accident on route to the vet.
Am thinking he likes levemir too!!! :-D :-D :-D
 
I'm afraid to test him again, tonight. Can I just wait until AMPS? she says pleadingly.

Off to the pool. I float on my back and mediate a lot and pray for the ones who need it.

and rescue drowning bugs, and look up at the jet planes that pass by, because we'll soon be on one,

I try to just become peaceful and one with the earth, but it depends on how many screaming humans are there, with me.
