For Veterinarians
Partnering with veterinary professionals to improve feline diabetes education.
Felinediabetes.com and the Feline Diabetes Message Board (FDMB) has been around for decades. Our platform is used by a global audience, thousands of caregivers a day, seeking guidance on feline diabetes management.
We’re expanding and growing rapidly here and looking for collaboration with veterinary professionals. The goal would be to strengthen medical accuracy, improve caregiver education and experience, and make sure our information includes emerging veterinary practices.
Veterinary Involvement Is Crucial
From our experience, a large portion of feline diabetes management happens at home. Caregivers make daily decisions about glucose monitoring, insulin administration, feeding, and recognizing symptoms.
Veterinarian participation would help:
- Improve educational materials (a lot of our materials are based on published research, veterinarian guidance, human doctor guidance, etc.)
- Clarify common misconceptions caregivers encounter
- Strengthen trust between caregivers and veterinarians
- And of course, improve long-term outcomes for diabetic cats
How To Contribute
Participation can be flexible, as much or as little as you’d be willing to do. We have needs for:
- Educational articles – contribute to relevant topics to feline diabetes
- Expert commentary/Q&A – provide a professional perspective on common caregiver questions or misunderstood areas of feline diabetes care
- Research – are you currently working on any research? Can we help, or anything you’re looking for feedback on?
Not looking for individual medical advice or to manage individual cases.
What's In It For You
- Full author credit
- Optional link to your practice or professional profile
- Visibility to a large audience of highly engaged caregivers managing feline diabetes
- Opportunity to improve public understanding
- Contribution to a long-standing educational resource used worldwide
If there’s anything else that might be of interest to you, we’re open to talking about it. Send a message to Tim & Pookey on the FDMB or send me an email at admin@felinediabetes.com.
Audience & Boundaries
Visitors to Felinediabetes.com and the message board are typically caregivers actively managing a diagnosed diabetic cat. Many are monitoring blood glucose at home, administering insulin, and working alongside their veterinarian. The audience is highly-motivated and seeking research-based factual information.
All contributions are educational in nature. We do not request or publish patient-specific medical advice.
