Zoomies after insulin

Milo has been on 2.0 units twice a day for about a month now. I’ve not had a problem in the morning, but after his evening injection, he often gets the zoomies. I read about it, and the advice was to give a little bit of food after the shot to prevent sudden low BG. That seemed to help, but tonight he was really wound up. I give food right before, and more after. Does this happen to anyone else? I’m afraid he might hurt himself!

Maybe he is feeling great?
DO you have a spreadsheet to share with us?
Are you hometesting the blood glucose?
The dose may need adjusting after 1 month

He's happy!! It would be good for you to create your signature and spreadsheet, we can answer your concerns easier, this is how we base advice were if can not see on a daily basis his reaction to dosing and activity, it is difficult to actually see what's going on, we need to know more about your cat like what insulin are you using , are you home testing, what are you feeding and more; below there are 2 links to that, if you need assistance setting up the Spreadsheet let us know so we may help you, and again He's most likely happy:bighug::cat::cat:

Thank you so much! I will work on this!

Milo’s numbers are looking better this week. I’ve been giving him food, then a couple more tbs of his wet food after his insulin, and that seems to have helped with the zoomies. I have started my profile, and am working on a spreadsheet. As always, I am grateful for all your help in this group!

That's great news on both counts!!:bighug::bighug::cat::cat:
