This is the first time I've had a kitchen that I can really cook in. So this year I am making three types of french style truffles.
1, chocolate and orange rolled in confectioners sugar
1, white chocolate with peppermint, from crushed peppermint candies then rolled in more crushed peppermint candy,
1, the chocolate rolled in cinnamon sugar.
I will also be making rum balls as well as cream cheese mints.. I am thinking vanilla as peppermint is sooo over done.
I also plan on making buckeye balls
There was plans to make peanut butter cups as well as peppermint bark. But time ran away from me, yes I am teasing people but I am also excited. I plan on giving some as a thank you gift to tri met drivers that I know . That and belated Christmas gifts

I used to bake a lot more than now. It's unappreciated and a lot harder than it looks. I'm from a Dutch background and my mom used to make pans of something I can't pronounce (speckelhass?) that had pounds of butter and $50 of pecans and almonds in it. We would fight over who got the most loaves of her home made bread. My SIL is an over the top organic kook who conned my Scottish MIL into making shortbread cookies without butter one year. Mom lives here now and eats real food.
I ask for extra fattening and extra Gluten at the bakery. Unlike Girl Guides everywhere else the Girl Guides in Canada sell healthy cookies that taste like sawdust and no more frozen cookie dough. We haven't seen them in our neighborhood in 15 years.

People have been eating butter for a thousand years. I'm just waiting for kale to go away forever.
Cynthia's mom is 95 and just a tiny woman but she plows through the actual food we give her, no worries about low-fat or gluten free.
Now the secret is out that I have some Dutch in me I can't make Haggis jokes. From the people that brought wooden shoes to the world I apologize for sardines, eel and liverwurst. :(

advocaat / eggnog. :blackeye: I never got the eggnog thing. Yellow goop of unknown origin, possibly lumpy.
I do have an affinity for tulips but if I were to start my own country I would advise against basing my economy on a flower.
Wooden shoes, wooden head, wouldn't listen.

Then on a plane to yours Dickson if you still have \ make that recipe !! :D

An airplane, from the UK to Canada?
Couldn't be that bad as quarantine is not enforced here, airports are set for on-the-spot Covid testing but under funding means no tests and the chocolate here is awful.
And as I used to tell my sister who had a morbid fear of flying, "You know those things crash all the time right?"
Hey look, the wings really do bend! Those people down there, they look like ants. Is that my house? I smell smoke.
