Hi lovely people..
Can I pls get some quick feedback on Arya’s chart for today? She’s just dropped to 65 +4 hrs after shot. I’ve just fed her, she was really hungry. We will set the alarm and get up in 2 hrs to test her again.. just to be safe.

Edit- tested 1.5hrs later - 83
Many thanks

First a heads up, I'm still rather a newbie myself. Both of my cats went into remission in 2 months time, so I don't have the years of experience.
But that being said, she looks great! As she was just diagnosed, there's not a lot of data there yet, but I would say get numbers might dip just a little more. But believe it or not, she's where everyone strives to be. The green is what I've heard referred to as 'healing numbers', and that's what's going on inside her right now. The insulin given is allowing her pancreas to work again and though the low numbers can be daunting at first, it's what we all aim for.
Getting up to check on her is a smart move just in case. But it seems she's finding her rhythm. If it dios below 50, try 1tsp of mc or hc food and check again in 20min. We do that until they have 2 tests in a row over 50. You can also use just a few drops of karo or honey to help us dips too low.
But it looks good. That's just for an emergency.

Wow! How wonderful are you! That’s AMAZING! Well done!!
Thanks for the reply… yes I felt that it was ok but just needed reassurance I guess as I’ve got so much wrong- inc trusting my vet!
So glad I found you marvellous people… I’ll keep you posted… 🦋

Hi Lisa, are you following SLGS or TR for a method (if you’ve decided upon one).
It appears Arya is responding well to insulin and her pancreas is doing great.

If you’re following SLGS, you reduce if they drop under 90, and with TR you reduce if there’s a drop under 50 for newly diagnosed cats 😻
