I would like to communicate with some of you that are experienced with a bouncy cat. Andy has been on and off Lantus for over 3 yrs and is still bouncing - at least that is my assumption. Are any of you willing to help me with this? I need to get a handle on this problem cat. HELP please. Thanks.

It took over a year before Neko stopped bouncing to reds and only bounced to pinks. The only way to fix bouncing is to get their bodies used to lower numbers so they don't freak out at it so much.

An older post on bouncing you might find interesting: Bouncing and Jetta - this one has a great quote from Jill
from my perspective... the problem is you're equating bouncing as a problem. :D
until a cat is tightly/well regulated bouncing is normal. thank g_d kitty bounces! that means his body is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing...

So the process for you will be to first select a dosing method that works for you, Tight Regulation or Start Low Go Slow, then increase safely until he's seeing a lot more green. In the mean time, you are likely going to be battling glucose toxicity because his body is used to higher numbers.

And please don't do this as a private conversation. Bouncing is a completely normal and expected resulted from kitties. Many people can benefit from this discussion. Besides which, the solution is in dosing, and we don't do dose suggestions via PM.

I had already set up as private. I don't get much feedback because I am not online a lot due to 20 other kitties etc. So was hoping for more interaction via private conversation. ??

It's preferable to have dosing advice, etc. out on the public forum for peer review. People on this forum set up a thread each day and bouncing can be part of that discussion. Along with the usual thread title format you could insert "bouncing" or something along with the blue question mark icon to get more attention. :)
