Wotholding food before testing?

I thought I read on this forum that it is suggested to withhold food food for two hours before testing because it might affect the numbers bit I read on another diabetic page that it wasn't necessary. I'm confused on what to do.

If you feed before the Pre-shot test, you have no way of knowing if the number you're shooting is influenced by food or not

The only time it's really important not to feed for 2 hours before testing is the test immediately before shot time

Thank you for clearing that up for me . That is the way i have been doing it . I have no idea why the other site has said other wise . I will stick to this forum.
