Worried that mmol was too low at insulin time

Hi everyone,

I had a post a couple days ago about my guy have low blood sugar after an inject, thread can be seen here:
https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/low-glucose-warning-up-and-down-every-15-min.285808/

I see the vet tomorrow, and he's acting pretty normal, but my anxiety has kicked in a little

Normally I was told not to give if his mmol is under 12. But because of the low glucose issue the other day, I was told to increase that to 14, so not give dose if under 14

At time of morning dose, he read as HI, and then 2 hours later it started going down, 20, 18, 16, etc, and stayed around 14 after about 8 hours until his evening dose. At feeding time and when getting insulin ready he between was 14.2/5

When I gave his dose, I went to log it, and the meter read 11.4/mmol, so now I'm worried. This was only about 15-20min after it's been 14+ all day. Now it's been hovering between 10-12 and his insulin was only 15 min ago

*EDIT, Insulin was 40 min ago, and it's already at 8/mmol

Unsure how it went low after eating and so quickly from insulin, dosen't food usually increase glucose, and the lantus not kick in for 2 hours or so?

I really don't want another low glucose scare. Did I mess up by giving the insulin?

I probably won't sleep tonight. He's wearing a Freestyle Libre 2, so I will get alerts if too low and will do the honey and food and watch for hypo.

Dose was 0.5 half unit Lantus

It really would help if you started a spreadsheet and posted in US rather than world numbers. The spreadsheet converts the numbers for us. Being new we would say to shoot if 200 or more. I think 11.4 is over 200.

Hi, can you tell me how to do this, and what US means?

US is United States. The spreadsheet converts World numbers to US which most of us use. Here are directions for setting up a spreadsheet.

Ok, I will work on making that.

I got another low glucose warning, at 57.6 mg/dl

Gave him more food and some honey again, to hopefully get through the night before I see the vet. He isn't acting hypo, but this is a quick drop again like the other night
